Dont know product key

Legitimate products on the market come with the product key in the packaging, or from a secure site for on line purchases. It is the key you are buying when you put your mney down, not the CD/DVD etc. The key should be treated the same as you treat cash.

I hope this helps though it is probably not what you wanted to hear.

Thank you for using FixYa.com

Need wap key for netgear router DG834G v3 serial no 1JX169BC04A22 mac 00184D3FE256 Can you help please?

If it's not yours, you need to ask whoever it is for for the password. If the modem is for yourself, you should probably look for the manual for the wireless modem. Some of them come with a password, and the manual might tell you what it is.

As for someone else's internet, you need to ask them for the password.

WEP is an easy password, and a WAP consists of a lot more characters than a WEP

Securing my wifi

IF you're using the Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP), you'll need to start by enabling it at your Wireless Access Point (WAP) first, and how you do that will depend on the WAP in question and how it is normally configured.
When you do this, make sure you make a record of the WEP key you create as you'll need to enter this key on to each of your clients.
Once that's done, WEP is enabled through your wireless drivers in Windows,
I am certain you definitely want to make sure that your network has a WEP network key -- if the key is blank, the network is wide open.
Here's how to configure each Windows XP client: Right-click the connection in the network connecton window and click View Available Wireless Networks to configure the connection. On the Wireless Network Connection dialog box that appears, type a key into the Network Key box, and again into the Confirm Network Key box. (it is usually 10 letters/numbers in length)
good luck, hope this helps please leave rating.

Wireless router sends unsecured signal

It could mean that your WAP or WEP is off in your router, to turn it on you have to set a password key for the WAP/WEP. It could be set by accessing your router's configuration by typing your routers IP(usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) in your internet browser. You will be then prompted for the username and password, for the IP, username and password refer to your routers manual or buy using the CD that comes with the router.

WG511T network card problem

WEP and WAP mmmmmm.
So WEP is Wireless Encryption Protocol and WAP is Wireless Application Protocol. WAP is used in cell phones so i am presuming you actually mean WPA?
If so....
The wg511t provides the highest available level of industry standard 128-bit WEP encryption, and it’s
upgradable to Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) security.
Here are the instructions to enable WPA.
http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101675.asp
WPA is set from the router so if it is not supported on the router it is not supported on your card.
It is router dependant.
What router do you have.
Let me know if this is helpful at all.
