First think You should Do is Look at the Fans and Heatsink Blades... They Could Be Clogged.... Or a Dust/Hair Ball can be stick in the fan chamber... Use Forced Air To Blow Out .. (make sure you're not blowing it further into the laptop though)
You Might need to remove the underside of the case to access these parts... Also Take the Memory out and reseat it back in place... Pull the hard drive and Reseat that as well...... after all that... reattempt a boot.....
if still messed up... try booting into Safe mode by pressing F8 upon boot and choose the first choice to boot in Safe Mode.
there you can run checkdisk and/or troubleshoot further..
