Water coming out from under the door

Water comes out of the bottom of the door. I thought it was the seal, replaced it and its still doing it. So the maintinance man changed the motor and its still leaking. Drain hose is clear also. I am lost. Any ideas?

Hi neilsadler

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question: Water comes out of the bottom of the door. I thought it was the seal, replaced it and its still doing it. So the maintinance man changed the motor and its still leaking. Drain hose is clear also. I am lost. Any ideas?

In my experience there are two resons to explore.
It is unlikely but we have to look at this posibility, you could be useing the wrong kind of soap or too much soap. If you're sure you're OK there then take a real good look at the level of the d/w. If it isn't perfect that could be the problem. I'm talking vertically, horizontally and front to back. It can be hard to get it right. I hope this is the case because all we're left with is a defective d/w. No mater if new or old. If new try to push for a new warranty replacement. We're talking a whole new d/w. If you push hard enough this it can be done. If it's old, it's time for a new one.

Leaking from motor

Water Inlet Valve

If the dishwasher is leaking water the water inlet valve might be defective. If the water inlet valve sticks open, it will allow water to fill the dishwasher continuously. Some customers report that they see clean water filling the bottom of the dishwasher after it's been sitting all night or for a couple of days. If this happens, turn off the water that is supplying the dishwasher. This is normally a valve under the kitchen sink. Then, replace the water inlet valve, it cannot be repaired. The water valve needs at least 20 lbs pressure to shut off properly. If your water pressure is to low replacing the valve may not solve the problem.

Center Wash Arm Assembly

If the dishwasher is leaking water, the center wash arm assembly might be cracked or split. This can allow a jet of water to spray toward the door seal, causing a leak. If a crack or split in the center wash arm assembly is found, replace it. There isn't any glue that will hold the part together inside the dishwasher.

Lower Wash Arm Assembly

If the dishwasher is leaking water the lower wash arm assembly might be defective. If the lower wash arm has a crack or split on the end, it can force water to spray directly toward the lower part of the dishwasher door. Then, the water can be forced under the door and onto the floor. Check the lower wash arm for any cracks or splits and replace it if necessary. Also make sure the screws are tight in the wash arm support. If the screws are loose, water can spray out the side of the pump and cause a leak.

Upper Wash Arm Assembly

If the upper wash arm assembly is broken or cracked it can cause water to spray very forcefully toward the seams of the door, causing a leak.

Door Seal

Every dishwasher door has a door seal. If the dishwasher is leaking water, it might be that the door seal is defective or worn out. Try closing the dishwasher door on a dollar bill and see if the door seal is making good contact all the way around the door. If not, replace the door seal. If the door seal is good or has been replaced and there is still a leak check the door hinges. If the hinges are bent the door will not close properly and the hinges will need to be replaced.

Water level too high overflowing the tray and comes out bottom of door

Drain the dishwasher. There's a box in towards the front of the door. It's shaped like an oval. Carefully remove and clean that. Lift it up and down after and listen for clicking. Try running it again.

Replace bottom seal hoover dishwasher

Hi,

There's only 2 screws under the top where it screws to work top and 2 on the inside where there are 2 White plugs on either side. If the bottom door seal is leaking you don't have to pull it out just remove inner door and replace , bottom seal comes with the inner door not separate.
hope this will be helpfull to you.
Goodluck..................

Water leaks out front

I had exactly the same problem with my Kenmore Ultrawash. I thought the leaking might be coming from the seals around the door, but found that it was leaking from the top as described. I removed the air vent cover on the inside of the door and found that it and the vent area had a great deal of what appeared to be dissolved paper. At first I thought perhaps this was somehow remenents of some kind of air filter, but after reading the post here, came to conclude this was foreign matter. I believe what happended is we at some time washed jars or something with lables on it and this stuff accummulated inside the air vent area. I think in a normal case, when the washer is running, water is mostly stopped from going into the air vent area by the hatched cover, but inevitably some water would get thru. This would be ok normally, because the water would just hit the vent area and probably just fall back into the washer. With all the debris stuck in the vent area and on the cover, I suspect the water was not able to exit the vent area or was hitting the debris and causing the water to jet out the opening to the front - hence the water coming out the vent and pouring down the front. Once I cleaned out the vent area and the cover from the debris, I replaced the cover and ran the washer with no water leaking anymore.

I'm so glad you posted your finding - it gave something to look into, and turned out to be the same source of the problem. You saved me a service call.

Door still leaks after replacing bottom seal

the bottom seal isn't actually a seal, rather it serves as a splashguard. I had the same problem with the same model and started by replacing what I thought was a seal located at the bottom of the door.
Check if the screws on the top half of the pump (located under the lower spray arm which needs removed first) have become loose. The screws were barely in the threads which caused a stream of water towards the door and leaked between the splashguard and bottom edge of the tub and onto the floor.0d084cc.jpg

My LG dishwashermodel #ldf7810 is leaking at the bottom of the door on the left hand side wondering if its the seal around the door.

If it is leaking @ the door and not from under the washer then I would inspect the seal for damage. If it is coming from under it can be the water supply or the discharge line.

Door leak

Br, couple of things you can look for here. Check the vent, you can just pop this out. Sometimes there is a buildup of gunk which will hold water during wash and leak down between the door. There is a seal there, part number 974782. Another thing is to check the upper spray arm for cracks or splitting. This can send a direct flow of water into the vent. There is also a seal at the bottom of the upper spray arm, part number 3376846. I was fooled by a leak like this once, it turned out to be a clogged vent...Catriver..post back.
