Re: audio noise

Do you hear the noise from the speakers or the back of the set. If its from the speakers you could have a weak signal that is making the streo demodulator react and make funny noises. Try going into the audio menu and switching the stereo to mono or taking it out of expand mode. If its vcomming from the back of the set then sopmething like a high voltage or small coil is "singing" and not alot you can do except have the set repaired by a local repair person. Good Luck

Channel three is missing

Hi pasu, Normally if you can get/program Chs 2 and/or 4 as well the other channels, then Ch 3 should also be programmable. If this is not possible, perhaps you can try to manually program by selecting "03" and add to the memory "+" in some brands/model. If this is still a no go, perhaps you should seek the services of qualified professional since this would apparently be an internal software problem. You can also try a hard/full reset by unplugging the TV from the mains for couple of hours or as prescribed by your TV's user manual. If the TV has Video input features, a possible temporary work around the TV's Ch3 problem is to use the Video1 or the Audio/Video INput of your TV and use an old VCR to connect to your cable box. Remove the coaxial cable from your cable box to your TV and connect it to the RF/TV INput of your VCR. Use a 3 way RCA to RCA connector (usually Yellow, Red & White) to couple the Audio/Video OUTput of the VCR to the Audio/Video INput of the TV. Select Video mode in your TV (so it doesn't matter even if you cannot program Ch3). Power up your VCR, select Ch3 in your VCR's tuner. I assume that to select channels you wish to view, you use a remote and channel selection is done in your cable box. What worries me is "...went to a fuzzy black and white screen..." which is indicative of another fault. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

If you the video works and no picture you may have the audio and video on different inputs. Meaning Input 1 could be the video and Input 2 could be the audio.

Please provide furtehr detail on connection type from DVD sing red yellow and white cables to TV input X on the back of teh TV. I can not find teh original post. I can help you through this with a little more info.

Speakers have died?

Probaby the stereo decoder IC went bad or a supply voltage to it is too low or noisy. If it has audio output jacks on the back of the TV, connect it to an external amplifier and see what that sounds like. If it is ok in stereo or mono mode then the amplifier in the TV is bad. This will prove that the stereo decoder is ok.
