Question about Honeywell Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have had a new honeywell humidifier installed. The problem is the control H8908B. HE INSTALLED IT FIRST TIME ON A DUCT RIGHT NEAR THE FURNACE AND IT FEEL OFF . Melted . Then came in and moved it away from the furnace but still on a heat vent and the same thing happened 2 days later. It appears that it should go on a return duct upsream from the humidifier. Can it also be mounted on a wall. By just felling the ducts when the furnace is on can I tell which is the return air duct ? Thanks for your time and as you can tell I am not very mecanical Jim Phelan

I have just completed installing a Honeywell HE220A humidifier to a Carrier Weathermaker 8000vs that was installed in 2003. My problem is that all the identified circuits in previous posts on the circuit...

The terminals on the control board are designed to provide power to the controls of the humidifier, not run directly to the solenoid. If you don't want to install the controls, you can run the 24 volt signal from the furnace heat signal (W1/W2) through the humidistat to the solonoid. This will allow 24 vac to get to the solenoid only when the furnace is running. I do this on most humidifiers that I install.

I just got a new honeywell thermostat and it when i first hooked it up it wouldnt turn on so i check to find out which connections on the thermostat when open i changed my wire to make it correct now when...

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assit you. If you did not turn the power off to the furnace before rerplacing the thermostat then you may have burned out the board in the furnace. But first if there is a RH/Rc terminal in the new thermostat then try removing the jumper between the two and see if the thermostat will operate properly.

Humidifier doesn't work....

Hi Bruce, it sounds to me like you have done all of the right things, and if there is power to it that's testing it. Its not unusual to buy a factory defective unit, I see this every day in the field. If you have installed the solenoid per directions, and water tray kit, you should be up and running. I no its a pain to return it, but if you have doubled checked everything twice and nothing, take it back.Best of Luck,

Bryant-Carrier Furnace Fan Stays On

I suspect a bad fan relay or bad fan control. Maybe the longer the control or relay is in the on position the more chance of it sticking on.

I installed a whole house humidifier.... it seems to be working but no increase in humidity

Whole house humidifiers work only when the blower is running. How long has it been installed. It can take 2-4 days to increase the humidity level as all of your furniture, walls etc. are absorbing the humidity first. Many times if you leave the blower in the on position for a day or two it helps to increase the humidity level it just depends on how your system is wired. Also set your humidistat to 40-50%. Did you install it or a professional?

Carrier Infinity Control Thermostat SYSTXCCUID01-B

Your old stat is wired for a traditional thermostat and not a communication stat like the new infinity you have. There is a module plug on the furnace board that will need to be connected to the new thermostat for it to work. The wires that are wired now are from a terminal strip inside the furnace. Please contact your local Carrier dealer. They may be able to get that harness for you
