Have a look for a hole around 1/8th inch round. This could be behind a pop out plastic panel which you need to poke for it to come open. Usually on the front of modern tvs but occasionally on the side - good luck

Hello, My left headphone are not working, meaning, no audio. Is there a way I can fix this? If so, how (step by step for Dummies please)

The headphone may be faulty - may have a broken wire leading to the left headphone.
Try a different headphone to see if this headphone is OK, if so the the other headphone is faulty.
If this headphone is also does not work on the left headphone then the MP3 player phone jack is faulty and either the phone jack needs replacing or it needs resoldering onto the circuit.
This is not a job for a Dummy, you need a friend who knows electronics.

Just bought used pair of wharfedale 28637WH headphones dont know how to connect them to av unit. i cant download manual as using ps3 to do this. can u help with this? thanks craig

The base station for these headphones will have to be plugged into your AV unit. This is done with either a 1/8" jack or a 1/4" jack. Once the base station is plugged in, you will be able to use your wireless headphones.

Music only comes from the left headphone

This is a common problem with the headphone jack - if you google "ipod 30Gb headphone jack repair" there are both places that will replace the jack and places that will sell you the new "ribbon" connector and hold switch and jack (it's all one unit). If you're comfortable opening the iPod and have a TINY (#000) jeweler's philips head screwdriver you can replace the unit with no soldering. It helps if you have patience and small fingers and good light; you'll have to fasten the ribbon connector carefully. I paid under $10 for my last part but I've seen the same part for $30+, so caveat emptor. For that price they should put it in for you...

Computer isnt detecting i have headphones when plugged in

you need to plug the headphone jack in the right port. it is usually in the innermost left part. Also, make sure your sound card drivers are installed properly.

Headphone jack seemingly screwed up

What generally happens to connectors, especially exposed to air is they oxydize.

Buy a can of "Contact Cleaner" from a local Radio Shack and spray it (through the thin tube usually provided) into the jack. One quick push, dont flood it. Take the earphone jack and insert and remove it several times, wiping off excess, which sould clear contacts and it should work normally again. If not it would have to be replaced which is no easy matter requiring an experienced Technician or Factory. Sometimes it cannot be replaced without damaging the Mother Board. This however sounds like a common problem the Contact Cleaner will fox

Cheers,

Good Luck :)

Left speaker gives no sound

There could already be a problem with the speaker jack, if only one channel is consistently giving no sound on your system.

Try turning the male (connected to speaker wire) jack and you might hear a static crackle while doing this. If you get both channels to produce sound this way, you already have a failing audio jack, and may need replacement later on.

Hope this helps.

CANT GET SOUND OUT OF EARPHONES

Try different headphone set.
Make sure mute has not been selected (see manual for details).
If problem still persists, then the headphone jack is faulty - must replace entire player, since Philips does not repair/sell headphone jacks in Mp3 players.
