a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hey killerblue1, and Guest
It's somewhat a vague question, but I'll try my best to give you some options. I'm going to assume that your friend doesn't have an xbox 360, and you brought yours over to play, so I'm gonna go by that scenerio.
Try this, once you plug in your xbox360 to the network, which I'm assuming you have it set to be Modem --> Router --> Xbox.
Unplug the power from both the router and the modem, leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds, and then plug them back in, starting with the modem.
turn on the xbox, and see if it works for you.
If it doesn't, try this method:
Update the firmware on that router. I had the same issue with my xbox360. It's quite easy to do. Go to the manufacturers website of the router, and just do a search for, 'firmware'. Then, once you download the file, open up the console to your router.
It usually something typed in the browser like, 192.168.0.1, etc. Login, and update the firmware.
If that doesn't work. Get ahold of sony, maybe even checking their site. They may need some specific ports opened up on the router to allow specific packets to go through the network.
Hope this helps.
PS: If all of this doesn't work, please attempt to test the connection, and post back what step it fails on. It can be easily narrowed down to what is causing the issue if you do.

problems usually happen, when the signal strength drops.
I,d suggest hard-wiring the 360 to the PC or router, for optimal performance.
Thankyou for using fixya.

Thank you for using Fixya!
Try to change the MTU size of your router. For Cable Internet use 1500, for DSL/T1 use 1492. See if this will resolve your problem.
