Hi. I have a kenmore Washing Machine model 27062601 It doesn't finish the cycle. stops wen is washing, then I have to open it and start the cycle again. some times this works, some times don't. Any idea what is causing this?? thanks

If the washing machine stops in the middle of the cycle then it is very unlikely the lid switch is involved. It could be a number of reasons.

Best to drain the washing machine and repeat the cycle a few times to check if it happens at the same point. Could be a problem with the timer or pressure switch.

Lid off, right side circular pressure switch with black hose attached. Remove end of hose, blow down to make sure not blocked and blow into switch where hose attaches. Should click twice. If doesn't click, faulty pressure switch (replace)

if you forced it open, you probably broke the lid safety switch. depending on how technical you are, might be time to call in the repairman.

DOES IT DO THIS ON EVERY WASH OR SOMETIMES? IF SOMETIMES, CHECK LID SWITCH( THERE'S A LITTLE HOLE WHEN YOU OPEN THE LID, ON THE LID SHOULD HAVE A LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE THAT GOES IN THAT HOLE. THE SWITCH IS UNDER, INSIDE THAT HOLE. YOU CAN GET A PEN OR KEY TO SEE IF IT'S BROKEN.)

Sounds like a belt or clutch issue. What is the make and model #?

Inspect the drain hose, see if there is any obstruction.
Try to understand if the machine does not drain at all or if the cycle is not completing , and timer stops before completinc cycle.

If the machine is not draining, then, once you check the drain hose and see no obstruction in there, it can be a faulty drain pump, or a faulty water level switch. If machine instead does not complete the cycle, it is a faulty timer/programmer.
