It is possible, but you may run into a problem with the amplification to be able to hear the speaker. Without knowing exactly what your setup is the best I can say is to attempt to hook them up to your headphone jack and see how well they work. If you don't hear anything, you need an amplifier. If you hear a distorted sound, but volume is not an issue, use the line out jack and see if it is any better.

The kind of speakers usually don't effect what drivers you have to use. If you have your motherboard cd then you can install the sound drivers from that cd. And, if you still are unable to find them in the cd then please tell me the model no. of your PC(and/or model no. of the motherboard).

Speakers don't really have Polarity ... they have Phase. The audiophile wants the speaker cone acting in the same direction not opposite directions. So, watch your wire - one conductor will have a rib on it, the other smooth. You pick which you want to hook to the red or the + or what the mark is on your devices pick the other conductor for the other side, black or - or what ever matches.

Those speakers don't need drivers, they should just plug into your sound card, if you aren't getting sound it's probably a sound card problem.
Check on your computer manufacturer's website to download sound card drivers.
