Re: broken screen

Shane, Do you want to replace the screen by yourself ? My opinion is that best thing is to contact one of Mio's support centers and to check with them how can you get the screen or either to repair your PDA. Good luck !

My tungsten E2 will not go out of the "tap center of the target" mode. Can this be fixed ? Thanks for the help.

Hello, cleme_z. I would be happy to help! Unfortunately, I too have had this issue with a pda of mine (not the same brand as yours), and the reason why my pda did this (and probably why your tungsten is doing this) is because your touch screen is broken. You screen cannot recognize nor truly feel touches, so your pda is stuck in "tap center of target mode," waiting for a response from your touch screen. The best thing to do is to contact the manufacture and tell theme about this issue. They might even allow you to send them your pda and replace it for free if they discover that you might have a slightly defective screen. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please ask!

I have broken the screen and I want a way, website, service to help me fox it

If it is a Palm PDA then go to and select the pda picture. Click on the name of your pda under support services. If I had your model number and more information about what kind it is I could mdirect you better to the right site. Best wishes.

Cracked screen.

hi thanks for using fixya!

You know, you have a great pda! I hope it still can be fixed. I suggest that you should bring your pda to a service center or to your retailer so that they refer you to the accredited service center. And if your phone is new, perhaps it can be covered with the warranty. I think the screen is available but rarely, if you cannot select most of the functions, it is a big problem coz you cannot make the back up.

if you need further assistance, let me know!

My touch screen really think that it stayed in the sun for to long then all of a sudden the screen is white and i tried charging it on the computer it did not work i even tried it on the wall charger...

hi thanks for using fixya!!

what is your PDA? I suggest that you should bring your PDA to your retailer, they can recommend you the accredited service center and they can comment on to it. Do you still have your warranty? If so, it is much better.

If you still need further, let me know.

Don't forget to rate my solution positively! thanks!

My screen dose not work i got batteries for it, put them in, and the screen show lines and numbers and the lines and numbers faded away.

well , does ur pda ever fall? or get into water?

cause it might cause ur LCD screeen to be broken, but if ur pda ever got into water, ur component inside might be broken.

If one of above occured, u have to bring it to technician, unless you know how to replace a LCD or the other component.

if none of above occured, then u have a software problem, you need to flash it (put a fresh software in it), which you had to bring it to technician too, but it might cost much little than if you had problem on the LCD and component.

Firstly this depends on whether the touch screen is cracked or just the outer layer is scratched badly.  If you see cracked glass or a liquid in the screen then the touch screen is broken. I have personally had this happen to one of my PDAs and after doing some research is the best bet for getting an ipaq repaired reliably.  However touch screens are very expensive.  I just looked at the site and a new screen for your PDA is $227.  I believe that is the price just for the part but not totally sure.  Your best bet would either be replace it yourself maybe buying a broken PDA of the same screen type on ebay and try to replace it yourself (which is very difficult) or just upgrade and buy a new PDA.  However no matter what happens I strongly suggest buying an aluminum case.  They are relatively cheap and will save you in the long run.  The invisible screen protectors are nice as well against scratching.  If you have any questions don't be afraid to contact me.  And by the way this is my first post so any feedback would be great reguardless.
