Hi My bissell proheat 2x 9500 is making a loud noise when the brushes are moving. I replace both belts and cleaned the brushes. Can you think of anything else it could be.

First of all this is Not a vacuum cleaner. It is steam cleaner so most of the solutions you have come up with do not apply to this machine. I actually took the machine apart and figured it out for myself. Therefore, this answer is not satisfactory and I want my 12 dollar back.\

Vacuum cleaners are noisy machines in general, but it isalways possible to hear when the vacuum is making too much noise. First try tofind the source of the noise. 1. Remove the filter and bag of the machine and make surethat they are not clogged or full of debris. Clean any filters according to theinstructions for your model or replace the bag. Excessive debris will make theengine run noisily. 2. Inspect the hose of the vacuum and remove any largedebris that may be clogging the inside of the tube. Large amounts of dust, aswell as stones or other hard materials that bounce, may cause a loud noise inthe engine. 3. Remove the housing that conceals the engine of yourmachine and inspect the fan for damage or clogging. Remove any dirt or debristhat may hinder the movement of the fan. Inspect the fan for any damage such asbent or excessively sharp blades. Replace the fan blades as needed; contactyour vacuum manufacturer if the fan is damaged. The replacement part willinclude instructions. 4. Tighten the fan with a ratchet if it is loose on theassembly. A loose fan will make a rattling sound as the motor revs. Wipe dirtand dust from the frame of the engine. Large quantities of dirt or dust aroundthe motor can cause it to overheat, which can cause vibration and loud noise. 5. Look for corrosion around the engine. If the engine iscorroded, it must be replaced. Grease the bearings of the engine if you hear agrinding noise from the vacuum. Greasing is often performed through ports inthe engine, or by removing the bearings. However, the actual greasing method ismodel-specific. Consult your owner's manual or send the vacuum to a serviceprofessional for this service. 6. Inspect the inside of the vacuum cleaner for other wornparts or broken pieces. Worn or broken pieces can cause loud noises to occur.Remove the broken part and order new materials from the vacuum manufacturer ortake the machine in for service. 7. Make sure the belts are engaging the brush roll, thedrive shaft, and any other moving parts, such as power-drive rollers. Clean thebrush roll and make sure it is spinning freely. Lubricate the bearings. Replacethe bearings or the entire brush roll, if necessary. Brush rolls may be madeout of wood, especially in older models, or out of plastic in newer models.Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

Hello there,
Try using other brush attachments, as broken bearings in a brush attachment will cause noise. If these troubleshooting techniques do not work, you may need to service the engine.
Remove the filter and bag of the machine and make sure that they are not clogged or full of debris. Clean any filters according to the instructions for your model or replace the bag. Excessive debris will make the engine run noisily.
Inspect the hose of the vacuum and remove any large debris that may be clogging the inside of the tube. Large amounts of dust, as well as stones or other hard materials that bounce, may cause a loud noise in the engine.
Remove the housing that conceals the engine of your machine and inspect the fan for damage or clogging. Remove any dirt or debris that may hinder the movement of the fan. Inspect the fan for any damage such as bent or excessively sharp blades. Replace the fan blades as needed; contact your vacuum manufacturer if the fan is damaged. The replacement part will include instructions.
Tighten the fan with a ratchet if it is loose on the assembly. A loose fan will make a rattling sound as the motor revs.
Wipe dirt and dust from the frame of the engine. Large quantities of dirt or dust around the motor can cause it to overheat, which can cause vibration and loud noise.
Look for corrosion around the engine. If the engine is corroded, it must be replaced.
Grease the bearings of the engine if you hear a grinding noise from the vacuum. Greasing is often performed through ports in the engine, or by removing the bearings. However, the actual greasing method is model-specific. Consult your owner's manual or send the vacuum to a service professional for this service.
Inspect the inside of the vacuum cleaner for other worn parts or broken pieces. Worn or broken pieces can cause loud noises to occur. Remove the broken part and order new materials from the vacuum manufacturer or take the machine in for service.
Hope this information was helpful to you. All the best. Elect_Comp

Reset circuit breaker in bissell proheat 2X

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

There are a few potential solutions you should try. You can check the brush role to make sure nothing is lodged in it. Your vacuum circuit breaker will automatically shut off the brush if an object is caught in the brush roll. You can also try cleaning and lubricating the bearings on the brush roll. If that does not work the problem could be related to your belt. Belts should be replaced every 6 to 12 months for optimal performance.

You can purchase direct your replacement belts from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

I have borrowed a bissell proheat 2x from a friend and she did not have a manual. I cannot get the brushes to turn.

The User Guide for the Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot Upright Deep Cleaner is available here:

Note that the brushes only turn when the unit is reclined using the detent pedal.

If machine has been jammed the internal circuit breaker may have been tripped. Unplug machine from power source, remove object or blockage and then plug machine back in to power source to reset breaker.

More seriously the drive belts may have become worn or have broke or a brush may have become detached; refer to page 18 for instructions on how to replace belts and brush rolls.

More information including a video and replacement parts can be found here by selecting the tabs across the screen below the picture of the machine.
