TV won't turn on; gives two flash, long red cycling error code. Tried a different outlet with no effect.
Any help in how to diagnose which board is bad and any other tech support documentation/sites/information on this unit you can provide is much appreciated. If you provide me with guidance, I'll pay the premium rate set through this site.
I have had a problem with my 42" Plasma. It was purchased three years ago and I also purchased the extended service. Every once in while, while watching, the screen would shut down and the LCD at the bottom left would go red. I would get up, turn the monitor switch on and off and usually it would solve the problem. I called Philips and also their service outlet but they couldn't help because it only happenned once per every two or three months. Well, the warranty just ended and now the screen goes down, red light comes on and if i can reset it it only takes minutes for it to shut down, I have the set apart and i ordered a new switch and LCD. Do you think this is my problem or do you know of anything else it could be. Seems like others with these sets experience the same problem
hen the unit is plugged in the red 'standby' LED comes on as usual. I
power on the unit from the remote and the power LED turns green, I hear
two clicks from two relays on the power board (about a second apart)
and the 6 cooling fans come on to full power. After approx 2 seconds I
get another relay on the power board that clicks on and off one time
very quickly along with a very brief flash on the screen. Afterwards
the fans power down and I hear the original 2 power relays click off
(again about a second apart) followed by the red power led flashing
once a second.
I'm fairly skilled in electronics so I've taken
my plasma display completely apart. I've checked for the obvious burnt
or cracked components and found nothing. I've measured voltages at all
the individual board power plugs and test points and I seem to have
proper voltage across the boards (+380V off the main power board and
+180V and -165V as listed at the test points for the actual plasma
panel, along with the requisite +5 and +12 as also listed on all
boards). I've disconnected various power plugs to possibly isolate
certain boards with no luck so I don't think its power related at this
point. To me it seems more like a protection circuit is kicking in and
powering off the unit.

HI

It will be a convergence problem with the main board
or a fault with the power supply no matter what its a difficult tv it will have to be fixed by a professional
Since its Plasma TV, you need technical person to examine TV and rectify what board is required. Plasma tv is high tech item and fault diagnosis also required special tools and jigs. I would recommend to call Panasonic for proper repair.
More than likely the power supply has gone bad.i know its not what you want to hera but im sur the power supply is out and its something a shop would have to repair

I understand this will likely require replacement of the power supply board(s), and have no problem doing that work myself. I need assistance in finding the service manual or other information that can help me diagnose the error code and associated fault so I can do the work myself. thanks.
Can anyone give me information on this error code? two flash, long red. If it is the power supply, there seems to be two main boards, TNP3196 and TNP3213. Replacing these myself (even if only one is bad) is half the cost of having someone come out.
sorry - there is no value in this TV, so I either do the work myself or pitch it. Will anyone give a response other than (needs a TV repair man)?
nothing here.
