Hello,

The remote might be bad or the sensor on the remote or the television is bad. If the metal that holds the sensor light on the remote or the television becomes rusty and breaks off, the remote will not be able to operate the television anymore.

Check the remote and the televisions remote sensor if it is still okay. If they are both okay, then it means the remote is dead and need to be replaced.

My dvd player is not responding to my remote RMT-D187A the dvd player is fine and will play dvd's but the it's not responding to the remote-I've changed the batteries....there is no way to...
To make sure the remote works or not. See if it blinks if you shoot the pointy end to a mobile phone in camera mode. If it's working fine there, some other issue. At least you know if it's a battery thing.

I do not know the steps to take to program my Sony Video (RMT-V306) remote to my Toshiba television.
To program your Sony RMT-V306 remote:
  1. Set TV_VIDEO switch to TV
  2. Turn on television to be programed
  3. Press & hold the I/O (Power) button
  4. Enter TV code (Toshiba = 07)
  5. Release I/O button
  6. Press I/O to turn off TV
If you have a different brand TV, you can get the code from Sony's e-support site here.

  • Remember, when changing batteries you will need to reprogram remote.
  • The RMT-V306 will not control all functions of your component.
  • Although not common, there may be some components the RMT-V306 cannot control.

SONY RMT-D240A NO LONGER WORKS, IS THERE AN INEXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT?
my solution was to press enter and 1 simultaneously for 5 seconds, then press menue/system. I reset the date, and my remote worked as before. Caused by changing batteries after the remote was in storage for a year.
