Hi,

Basically, the drivers you need will be audio, video. network/wireless driver. For your laptop, just go to this site and give details of your laptop and download the drivers:

Hope it helps.

Hello aksmak22 This is a generic question ... basically you will need to obtain the drivers for the model of your pc. The following are the basics, the rest can/will be updated by the windows CD (especially once you have internet connected) The keys details you will need is:
1) What type of video card ?
Determine what make/model these are and your screen resolution will become fixed.

After putting in new hard drive after the old one died i installed windows xp unfortunately ,have lost all sound.please advise.

you can get the driver from the manufacturer website. If the PC is custom build, get the motherboard name and download driver from them. if your board is not integrated (built in on the board) find the name of the card model, googled it and download from the internet

Loosing of Sound driver

Unfortunately SoundMAX uses their own sound driver (as most dedicated audio codecs do), so we will need to know either the make and model of your computer (e.g. HP Pavilion dc5000 or something) or the motherboard (e.g. Asus Striker II Extreme).

Hi sachin. Copy the model number of your sound card from the motherboard's CD and search for the drivers in the corresponding vendor's site. You will definitely find the drivers on the site. Else , just post the model of the sound device, i will you the link to the driver download.

Format error

Do you realize that formatting your hard drive DELETES ALL of the data on that drive?

As in, gone forever...

So if you have a desktop, then you likely didn't do a "format", so WHAT did you do?

Was the PC you "formatted" an XP Pro machine, or just XP Home?

I'm not sure, but using an XP Pro disc on an XP Home machine may break things.

If it's an XP Pro machine then just put the disk back into the drive and follow the path to perform a windows repair installation.
