This is more likely a bad hinge mechanism and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

How to Replace screen and digitizer for iPod touch 4th gen.

iPod Touch 4th Generation:
iPod Touch 4th Generation: Heat the surrounding edges of the iPod for 30 seconds
Begin at the bottom corner...used a straight blade to pry the glass up slowly; the LCD will come with it since they are fused together.
When you get closer to the top be very careful since the wifi cable is normally sticking to the glass. If it is use a small screw driver to detach it from the glass. The wifi cable is on the opposite side of the power button.
There is one flex cable (LCD) that can be removed; just a slight twist and it should pop off easily.
The other flex cable (Digitizer) is under the logic board and since you'd be replacing it you can cut this flex cable to work with more ease.
Remove the eight screws on the metal plate.
Remove the metal cover over the camera...screw driver on the very edge and pop up...do not use much force or dig at it since it would be very easy to destroy the camera.
To remove the metal plate that covers the batter: bottom left corner... dig your screw driver in (shallow) then push through horizontally until you reach the edge and lift the end of the screw driver upwards...using this method will allow the speaker to stay in place and the metal plate to separate.
Remove the top three screws
Put a screw driver between the logic board and the power flex cable as you gently lift the logic board up on that side...this method will ensure you don't rip the POWER flex cable
Do not lift aggressively...both cameras must be lifted gently, the adhesive is not that strong but there are some there.
The power and volume flex cable connection to the logic board is near the volume buttons, be extremely careful not to damage the connection when lifting the logic board.
Remove the copper tape surrounding the connection for the digitizer and install new digitizer.
Follow steps in reverse.
Good Luck

How to take the stand off

There will be some large PHILIPS HEAD screws on the back of the set where the base meets the tv set.

You will have to lay the tv set down (screen side down) on something soft like a bed so you don't scratch / damage the screen.

Remove the big screws (should be 3 or 6 of them) then pull gently down and back on the base and it should slide right off.

Rescrew the screws into the holes in the tv so you don't lose them.

That should be it.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Screen stays black

Move all the pictures to the camera memory card from your internal memory. Since you have to open the camera, the pictures will be lost otherwise. Save your pictures. If you do not have a memory card, transfer all the pictures to your computer.

Remove batteries from the camera.

Purchase a replacement LCD screen, specific to a Samsung S860 camera. These replacement screens can usually be purchased directly from Samsung or from a camera resale shop. Auction websites should also carry LCD screens specific for these cameras.

Use the mini screwdriver to remove the four screws from the back of the camera. Be careful with this step since the screws are tiny.

Take the back cover of the camera off carefully. Inside the camera, there is a piece of foam that supports the LCD screen. Do not remove the foam. Set the bottom portion of the camera to the side.

Turn the top portion of the camera so it is facing upward. Notice how there are clips holding the LCD screen in place. Carefully lift these clips up and remove the broken LCD screen. The screen clips are extremely fragile and break easily if they are lifted too quickly. A gentle touch is key.

Place the new screen down gently and replace the clips. Gently dust the screen so fingerprints are removed.

Turn the top portion of the camera down so the screen is pointing down. Place this on top of the foam padding.

Turn the screws carefully. The best way to screw the back of the camera in place is to first screw in one corner, move to the corner that is diagonally across and turn that screw. Repeat for the other two screws.

Replace the batteries. Turn the camera on and see if it is function

Broken Elo Monitor Screen

Touch screens are even more expensive that straight LCD panels. This repair may cost more than the original monitor. Why do you need another panel? Is the panel cracked or is the touch screen portion not working correctly?
