I tried different ways of putting the door handle and lock together. It took me 5 hours to eventually work it out. Now the problem is solved.
I took a digital photograph of the lock before I put it back onto the machine, so now I have a permanent record to refer to next time. I say next time, because we've had 2 Servis Washing Machines, and between the 2 machines, the door handle has broken 4 times, through no fault of ours, each time having waited for the time switch to deactivate.
I think by now the company ought to make the plastic piece that keeps snapping, out of aluminium.

the doors can be dismantled and a new handle fitted. if you go to google. type in the make, model and end it with spares, it should come up with companies that supply parts. in the uk i use espares.
changing it can be fiddly but take pictures as you strip the door down so you get the pin, catch, handle and retaining spring in the right positions
Your door lock assembly needs to be replaced to open the door try the following procedure.
To open the door, get a piece of string and feed it into the door
recess, work it around until both ends come out opposite the door
handle. Pull the string to the side and with your other hand pull the door open. You will need to get a replacement lock assembly for the machine which isn't too hard to fit if you are a bit handy with tools.
there is a lever if you can pry it open a bit and get some type of hook in there and pull it across you can get it open i can get it with just a flat blade screw driver but a have had heaps of practice
it sounds like you have a broken door handle Disconnect power before doing anthing remove lid , what you will need to do is usining a screw driver or somthing simular look down to where the catch is (you may need a tourch) and look carefully you should be able to to the door catch mechanisim from inside you will need to mimic the action of the door handel but using a screw driver it a bit fiddley but can be done there is no grate force needed and it the catch will only need to move a bout 3-8 mm to open
probably handle mechanism broken. to open is a bit difficult. disconnect from mains and take top off. feel down the cabinet front on the side where the door handle and opposite the door handle you will find the door interlock. in the door interlock, you will find the end of the door peg. force this towards the middle of the machine and with luck the door will open. anothetr method is to break the handle off and use a small screwdriver on the door peg
