My dell 4201 went black screen yesterday. What can I do? Dell wont help!
Thanks.
We have same problem, black screen and no sound. What was the solution, how did it get repaired? Dell wants us to send it to them to repair for a shipping cost of $500-600. crazy!
I have the same porblem, black screen on my 4201 Dell tv, is this fixable or scrap it?
i also have the same prob. the t.v. turns on and the dell sign is faint at start up but after that nothing. i can see black fuzz but no sound or picture. any ideas what to do?
I do not seem to get anything. I get a buzzing sound is all nothing on the screen. Could it be a power supply problem not having enough energy to light up the plasma?
I noticed yesterday that when I turned the my dell HD plasma on a blob looking thing breifly showed up then the black screen with the Dell logo. Usually the logal goes off quickly and the tv picture comes on. But this time the logo slowly faded. The TV picture came on after than.
Today however all of the above happened with the logo slowly fading but then no picture at all. I do have sound. I can not get the menu or anything else to come up...
Same here. My screen is black but I do have audio. There is only one place that DELL has annointed to have parts for these so you have to send to them if you want to pay the $700+ in shipping. I was told these were made for Dell. One person suggested that this model was made by Samsung. Does anyone know if this is correct???
Ours went black too. We've had it since 9/2007. We had sound for a day, now it's gone too. Too expensive to ship and fix. You can get two TVs for what we paid for this one over two years ago.

My Dell HD42 is two years old now and the other day while watching it a faint snapping noise came from the TV and I shut it off. when I turned it back on the blue power light comes on, the sound is fine, the channels will change but the screen is black. There is also a faint burnt smell when it is on. I only tried it twice and now it's a wall ornament

All of a sudden the recording storage shows 100 percent full and the writing across the screen says initializing but it is hanging. From the menu I can not get any of the items to work. How can I get it out of initialing mode ?
