hi when you boot your system go to the cmos settings a blue screen will show that is either you press f2 or f12 as your system requires,
go to the on board settings i am sure the web cam on board is disables from this settings, enable it save the settings and exit. meanwhile on your windows xp make sure you have the webcam software installed this should work.
To set up web cam you need driver cd. Place it in dvd/cd drive. Now connect web cam to working usb port. Then computer will notice you that it found new device and searches driver of it .install it from cd drive now you can run web cam in your computer.
