Hello Guilmz,

I will take it that you have (of cause!) tried it with a new fuse in the plug....so forgetting THAT fix, the only things to do are:

1. Remove the battery and plug the laptop in to the mains. IF IT BOOTS then you have a short in the battery compartment electronics. This is beyond most people to fix so take it to a repair center.

2. IF RUNNING FROM BATTERY: Check that the battery fits snug and that it is not loose.

3. IF RUNNING FROM MAINS: Check that the power connector (In to the laptop) is not worn or loose and that the power socket (wall) is on and/or is working.

4. Try it with another adapter. If you dont have one, nip down to your local computer shop and just ask them to plug it in to a known working adapter to eliminate the possibility that your adapter is not working....or take your adapter to them and get them to plug in it to check if it is working...either way you eliminate the adapter as the problem.

5. IF and I say IF you are up to the task...then strip down the laptop and using a magnifying glass look at the mircofuses around the power input socket to see if there are any that have broken or if their are ANY dark or burnt looking ones...or if the motherboard around them looks dark as if it has overheated.
If this is the case you really need to either get it repaired or buy a new motherboard as a power spike may have caused the damage.

I do hope that this helps you, but laptops are hard to fix...even if you know what to look for...and the cost of a repair may be more than it is worth.

Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery. After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer

Hi, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Laptop. I have a serious problem with the screen. Every time it boots up the screen stays black, but I can hear it booting up. Anybody here any idea what the problem is?...

Look closely, you should be able to see the Windows desktop.
The fluorescent backlight is not lit up.
The lamp may be blown (not likely) or the inverter cable connector is loose.
Power OFF the laptop and remove the battery & power supply.
Remove the keyboard bezel.
Follow the cable from the screen to the motherboard. Re-seat the connector.
Assemble & power up.
