Re: my i830 is blank
Im afraid you dont. It sounds like you may have broken the LCD assy. or the cable runnin g to the screen and its not that the parts are too expensive to repalce its just dang hard to get bthem. The best thing you can do it ask your provider or who you bought the phone from if they can get replacement parts for you. Good Luck

I would start by attaching it to your computer and seeing if the phone boots up.
If it doesn't there is not much you can do without taking the phone about. A used iPhone 4S can be had for under $100. You could also go with an iPhone 5/5s and get something a little newer without spending a lot either.
I managed to fix mine! It takes some doing and is probably not for the faint hearted. You have to disassemble the Ocean from the battery side, removing the qwerty keyboard, to gain access to the slider assembly.
Disassemble the slider (pay attention to the spring!) and clean all contacts and make sure all of the flex cables are seated completely. Mine was working OK the qwerty way, but was blank and/or garbled the long way. Now it works great!
did you drop your phone
well if you did you jarred the screen loose from connector
if you didnt drop it
then make sure phone is on and do what they call a cold boot
pull the battery out remove sim blow on sim and place back in phone
There is no way to do such a thing. The i830 works off the iDEN network and is not compatible in any way with the GSM network used by Cingular. Sorry. Truth is, the i830 is junk, you're better off without it.
