I had this problem while on vacation and needed to DIY because I was going to fly home and could not leave the frame in the open position.

The buzz has a locking pin which in my case was preventing me from collapsing the frame. If the button which you push down and up has fallen off you likely have this problem. The fix is relatively simple and requires a phillips head screwdriver (needle nose pliers would come in handy too).

The steps:

  1. Remove the seat or carseat/dreami posts so all you have left is the frame.
  2. On the side with the button you push down AND up, look inside the hole where you insert the seat/carseat posts. You should see a silver button. Pry it off with the screwdriver.
  3. This will expose a phillips screw head - unscrew it.
  4. Pry the mechanism apart. Inside the outer piece you should find a small enclosed cable. You will need to feed the end piece into the plastic button. Also make sure the brass fitting on the cable enclosure is fitted into the plastic outer piece properly.
  5. Put everything back together.
Sorry I can be more descriptive - but I hope this helps. It took me a good hour to get it figured out and back together.

SOURCE: Closing mechanism on Quinny Buzz is not working

Hi,

If you have the version that has a black nylon strap clasp to close this, then you can contact http://www.quinny.com/quinny/forms/contact.aspx?mode=contact&language=gb-en who will be able to advise on how to purchase this part.

I hope this helps.

The Mico is a USA model only so we are unable to advise from the UK team whether it is compatible with the older style Quinny Buzz.

I just purchased a second hand Quinny buzz 3 and I believe I need a new front tire. When I go to turn the tire bumps on the cement and prevents me from turning with ease. Where can I find a new spare tire?...

hi you can get a new wheel unit from quinny direct or eBay
the folding is something else turn the buzz over and check the groove on the middle tube to see if it is clean try an oil like wd40
if that doesn't work it may need a re gas which can done by quinny

Trouble opening and collapsing a quinny stroller

The Quinny Buzz can only be folded/unfolded with the seat in the most upright position facing forward. If this is the case and it won't unfold, remove the seat first by pushing down the two grey release buttons either side of the frame. It may be the case that the gas strut (automatic close/opening mechanism) is seized and will need replacing. This can only be done by Dorel UK 01842 763 281 as it is a pressurised unit. Hope this helps

HI,

This sounds like you need a replacement gas cylinder. This is not something that you can do yourself and would need to be undertaken by a qualified person. You need to contact either your retailier or www.dorel.co.uk

I hope this helps.

Not fully opening

Hi,

This does sound like the gas spring needs replacing. This is something that the manufacturer needs to do for you though. I would suggest that you contact your retailer to get this rectified.

Hope this helps.

Quinny buzz handle won't extend and frame has started to collapse unexpectedly while baby in push chair

Sounds like the handle bar extender mechanism has broken internally and the Gas strut is faulty. This happened to mine. Both parts are readily available from Dorel UK 01842 763 281 (Mon – Fri, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm). They are the sole supplier of parts for Quinny. However, the Gas Strut is a pressurised mechanism and has to be replaced by Dorel. You will need to speak with them and arrange for the frame of the buggy to be sent to them (at your cost if out of warranty) and they will replace whatever parts you need plus do a full service.

Problem with unfolding of Quinny Buzz

Hello jenum71:

Sometimes the stroller does not automatically unfold easily if the seat is attached. If the seat is not attached, and the stroller is still not automatically unfolding properly, there is probably something wrong with the internal spring. have you had the stroller long? Quinny says that the spring will last "virtually forever", but we all know that there are always lemons. If you have not had the stroller for a very long time, contact quinny and ask for a replacement. They have been pretty good about getting them out to clients.
