Basically, this should solve almost every firmware issue with the Aigo DIY MP3 Player - Unless it was run over by a bus. NB: Despite searching for this info for MONTHS, nobody has yet published this "How To Fix" information in english on the net.
If your pc "suddenly" does not recognise your player, or it displays an error message like this "Error: Reformat player" when you turn it on, then you need to load the firmware into your player again. To do this, you need to have your Digital Audio Manager program installed on your computer. You should have done it when you bought the player, but if you need it, then it's available here:
http://www.aigo.com.sg/Download.cfm?DObj...Follow these steps:
1. While holding down the play/pause key, plug your player into a computer's usb port.
2. Dependent on your operating system,(XP or Win2K) you may see a "New Device Found" dialogue come up. Let it install software, & press yes to all the certificates and stuff to install the software . - What it's doing, is your player is uploading it's firmware to your pc from its backup flash memory so that it can be reinstalled.
3. Unplug the player. Then plug it back in. Start the Digital Audio Manager. Then find in your computer (In the same folder as your Digital Audio Manager program: Default folder is c:\Mp3 Player) an executable file called stupdaterapp.exe double click on it to start and in the window, tick "format" and start the firmware update to your computer by pressing START.
4. Watch the progress bar until finished and That's it! :-)
All the best
