I have this same problem with my hitachi 55 inch ultravision luckily i have a warrenty still in effect so i called them and they said... Analog channels are not formatted for wide screen aspect (4, 6, and 10 ect.) this is a normal thing don't worry. It automatically returns to 4:3 because analog is full screen only, and it will return to 16:9 otherwise or whatever you have it set to. Nothing you can do but the good news is your TV isn't broken!

The aspect ratio on the HD channels are full screen - which is correct. However all other channels have the incorrect aspect ratio. (reduced size) A solution please???

Many times HD channels will come in more clear, but with a smaller picture or widescreen view. There should be a button on your remote called 'wide' or 'zoom' and it will let you adjust the size on the fly. If you adjust the view while watching an HD channel, and you switch to a standard channel, you will have to change the ratio back. I've got the Panasonic TCP50G25 series tv and I think it's great. The only thing that I can't seem to figure out and really wish I could is when I'm watching an HD channel I want to know how to get it so...

THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE THAT IS TO CHANGE THE ASPECT RATIO OF THE TV AND/OR THE HD BOX. IT WILL BE LABELED "FORMAT" "ASPECT" "WIDE" "SIZE" ONE OF THOSE AND CHANGE UNTIL YOU GET THE DESIRED SIZE.

Change the aspect ratio

you can set the aspect on either remote. the best thing to do is set the proper aspect on the tv remote for regular (sd) channels, and then again for hd channels. the tv should remember these aspect settings and revert to them when you switch back and forth from sd to hd. if you have satelite, there is usually another aspect on there you can change depending on the program, but i usually recommend leaving it alone. if you are on an hd channel with side bars, switch to the sd version instead of changing aspect so you dont have to keep flipping it back and forth.

I change the screen to zoom and aspect control will not change at all?

If you're viewing an "HD" channel, the aspect ratio will not change.
Try switching to a non "HD" channel or DVD and try again.

RCA D56W20 picture problems

More information is required to properly troubleshoot this problem. How is your television connected when you are watching HD? Do you have HDMI for this, do you have a satellite or digital cable box? For analogue are you using regular coax antenna (cable TV), or are you going through a cable or satellite box?
This could be related to the aspect ration setting. perhaps you ahve changed your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 or some other setting. If you are connected via HDMI, then the digital signal may be "normalizing" your picture during HD, but reverting back to the other setting.

Check you video settings very carefully. HD televisions are very difficult to tweak properly.

Aspect ratio problems on Samsung LN-S2651D Flat Panel TV

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.
