Question about GE Air Conditioners

1 Answer

I thought the blower motor on my electric furnace was out so I replaced it with a GE 1075, 1/3hp new blower motor. I still have the same problem though. When the outside unit turns on the blower motor inside will not turn on.

It could be a bad thermostat. remove the front cover, take a jumper wire from r to g to see if the fan will come on, if does then its the thermostat is bad, if don't, then the fan circuit board is bad.

Auto fan does not start electric furnace

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If the furnace won't run, check the electrical service panel for a blown fuse or tripped breaker. Also make sure the power switch on or near the furnace is turned on. Check the unit for a reset button and try it. Some units have a built-in breaker or fuse panel.
If there is not enough heat, raise the thermostat setting five degrees to see if it turns the unit on. If the unit still does not generate enough heat, check the comfort controls . Clean or replace a dirty filter, clean the blower assembly (see the Forced-Air Distribution Fix-It Guide), and make sure that all registers are open and not blocked.
If the furnace turns on and off repeatedly (cycles), clean or replace the filter; and clean the blower assembly (see Forced-Air Distribution Fix-It Guide).
If the furnace is noisy, make sure access panels are mounted and fastened securely; spray squeaking belts with fan-belt dressing and replace worn or damaged belts; adjust the blower belt; lubricate motor and blower oil ports.
If the element does not heat, refer to the Heating Element Fix-It Guide for guidance.

Loud blower on my Coleman Furnace

Usually a noisy blower motor is a bad bearing. The motors now have oil impregnated bearings and you can't oil them, you have to replace them.

Hello, if the inducer motor is bad then the furnace will not continue further and work, it could be that the bearings are shot on the inducer or it has failed electricly. Best thing to do here is replace the inducer motor.

It's a brand new unit but it blows air so hard and makes so much noise. Can the flow the adjusted down?

is the fan outside too noisy,if so there is no way to change the speed of this fan,the blower motor in the furnace can be adjusted, either by adjusting the centrifugal pulley on the motor shaft or electrically or installing a different squirrel cage fan on the furnace blower

This is definately not a good thing. This unit is a safety hazard to say the least. Check for recalls by reporting it to the consumer product safety.

Sometimes people replace the blower motors with a higher horse power. Has this motor ever been changed? I believe the original should be a GE motor
