I am having problem on setup of the fax I have a line for fax

The orignal ink cartridges supplied with these machines are fairly low capacity. You can get XL versions which contain 2-3 times as much ink. If you are using refilled cartridges, you may find the Fax module can not tolerate refills. There is a way to reset the machine to ignore the ink level counter for the printer/copier functions, but the Fax module addresses the cartridges diferently for some reason.

Hi Alan,

Is this brand new printer ? Check the Warranty on it, Ideally warranty starts from day 1 you purchase the printer.

If it is asking you to use Setup cartridges, you should try contacting HP Support.

I have a Designjet 5500ps Printer and it is leaking blue ink, when printing, all my research indicates that I need to replace the carriage tube connector, but I am unable to find the replacement part.

Hi there

May be you can try to contact any Authorised HP Service centre for your probelm. Could you give me your correct location so i can tell you whome to contact?

Alternatively you can try to see where the leakage is taking place and try to seal it with silicon sealent so it can atleast last untill someone attends to the probelm from HP.

The technical term for it is INK TUBE ASSY. But make sure and tell the HP people about the size of the plotter that is 42" or 60" and also keep the Product Number and Sl. No. of the machine handy which is required by HP technical team. (You can find it at the back of the plotter)

My hp 4280 all in one printer says i am out of ink both cart are new.

Good day.
Try to print a print test page through the Setup Menusofthardware_1.jpg
Choose Tools>Print Test Page and check if you still get the same message out of ink. Also check the ink level report on the page which is very important.
If it says out of ink or ink level report shows no ink, check the new ink cartridge and take off the plastic cap off the nozzle.
Reseat the ink cartridges, restart your printer. (Power it off then back off) Check if it's the same issue. If it is,it would also be best to Align the Print head. Setup Menu>Tools>Align Printhead.

How to replace ink?

Hi there!

It is really easy to replace the ink for the Canon Pixma MX850. You can follow the instructions found on this website: Canon Pixma MX850 Easy Setup instructions.

The setup instruction shows images on how to replace the ink cartridge from removing the print head from the package to inserting it on the printer.

Hope this helps.

How do I check my ink levels

Method one: Check the ink levels from the idle screen on the color graphics display Look for four icons at the bottom of the color graphics display. The icons represent the ink level remaining in each of the four color ink cartridges: black, yellow, light cyan (blue), and light magenta (pink). A larger and more accurate view of the ink levels can be displayed from the Setup menu. If an ink cartridge containing non-HP ink is being used, a question mark displays instead of the ink drop in the icon for that cartridge. The HP All-in-One cannot detect the amount of ink remaining in ink cartridges that contain non-HP ink. Figure 1: Non-HP ink iconc00841629.jpg NOTE: HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP ink. Printer service or repairs required as a result of printer failure or damage attributable to the use of non-HP ink will not be covered under warranty. If a hollow ink drop icon displays, the ink cartridge represented by that color icon has very little ink remaining and will need to be changed soon. You might be able to continue printing for a short period of time with ink remaining in the print head assembly. Replace the ink cartridge when the Replace Soon warning message displays on the color graphics display. Figure 2: Low ink level iconc00841630.jpg When the Empty Ink message appears on the color graphics display, the indicated ink cartridge is out of ink. Replace the indicated ink cartridge. Method two: Check ink levels from the Windows computer The estimated amount of ink remaining in the ink cartridges can be checked from the computer. See the on-screen HP Director Help for information on checking the ink levels from the Printer
  1. Open the printer Toolbox. To do so, do one of the following:
    • Open HP Solution Center, click the Settings menu, then point to Print Settings , then click Printer Toolbox .
    • Right-click the HP Digital Imaging Monitor in the tray, then point to your printer model name, and click Display Printer Toolbox .
    The Toolbox opens.
  2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. The estimated ink level gauges display.
Method three: Check ink levels from the Setup menu
  1. Press Setup on the printer control panel.
  2. Scroll down and select Display Ink Gauge . The Ink Gauge status from the Tools menu will only display on the color graphics display.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Please rate this solution. Thanks.

Changing ink cartridges

Make sure the printer is ON.

Open the top of the printer.

The cartridges are inside the cartridge carrier. You need to squeeze the tabs on the carrier which will flip up the lids to reveal the ink cartridges.

For reference, here are links to the setup sheet and the user guide. The setup sheet has pictures that should help.
