Check if the air filter and evaporator coil if clean, check also the blower is operating. If every thing is "ok" then maybe your unit is under charge you need a qualified technician for this problem.

Yes it is possible, try to tilt it out 1/4" to avoid the base pan water to enter the room side. But it wont work try my first comment.

Can you see the condition of the coil itself? If it is blocked this could be a cause for the frozen coils. Also, check the condition of the blades on the indoor fan. Dirt and dust accumulation on the blades reduces airflow.

It cools great when first turned on. After so many hours of cooling it stops cooling

Have you checked up in filter area at ceiling to see if fins are frozen or frosted bad? If they are dirty, they can cause frost/ice and AC goes in to fan only until frost/ice is gone. When did unit actually get a good cleaning last? Too many registers closed or blocked can cause freeze up as well. Does this unit have ducted or non-ducted system?

I have a carrier air conditioner model 38CKC024340 it cool the house sometimes, then a block of ice will form on the unit outside and it stops cooling, what could be the problem

Have you changed the air filter?

The 2 main reasons for frozen units in cooling mode 1. Not enough air flow. 2. Low on refrigerant.

You can fix #1.
#2 will require a service call.

My air condition blocks some ice in the system, causing not enough cool provide.

Water leak /Icing in your evaporator is the common problem in split airconditioners.. It happens due to:

1. Air filter block 2. Evaporator coil Block. 3. Less rpm of blower motor. 4.Drain line blocked.

To rectify, service the unit completely. If blower motor less rpm, replacemotor capacitor.

Window unit ''smoking''

Hi,
Under certain conditions the "smoke" will form because of humidity in the air....it is nothing to worry about and in fact tells you that the unit is working very well...

Air condition won't cool

mcdevito75 here YES IT DOES, I'm no expert but that ice is the problem, remove the cover and filter and let the ice melt, DO NOT REMOVE THE ICE YOURSELF, YOU CAN HURT THE UNIT, let the ice melt, then doulble chech the unit is not set to low in temperature about 60 degrees is plenty or mid way thru the blue sign on the dial, also clean the filter.

Air Conditioning Unit is leaking badly, has mold and ice.

soundls like the condensate drain is clogged and coil is dirty. look for a plastic pipe inlet where water would flow to.. you may be able to clear it by blowing it out with compressed air. you can also pour bleach into it to address the mold problem. if the coil is icing up it is because it is dirty. to verify this, let the unit run in ac mode for about an hour and check to see if you have air flow from the vents. if you do not, then the cooling coil is covered in ice, thus blocking air flow. you should have a qualified ac person clean the coil and check the refrigerant charge on the unit. one thing to consider, change your ac filter often, at least once a month in hot weather.

Price to replace cooling coil on WeatherKing 12AJA4801

If the coil was frozen over it tells me there is a different problem. If the coil is frozen over try this. turn the circulating fan to the on position and the sir conditioning to off . Let it run this way for 1-2 hours to melt the ice and re-establish the air circulation. Then turn the a/c back to the cool mode and see how it performs.

Lower temperatures during evening and night conditions can cause coils to freeze over. Running you A/C with the fan in the on position generally takes care of this problem when you are cooling.

Ice on the coil fins of my Window AC unit......

set your unit to fan mode only, to thaw the ice, after the ice melts, look at your evaporator coil, see if its dirty, if its dirty, then you might just need a good cleaning. if the coil is clean, look at your thermostat setting. it should not be all the way cold. the compressor would run continously and it would freeze the coil. third, the refrigerant system could be partially clogged up or it lacks refrigerant. these problems initiate freezing of the coil.
