Sounds like you may have a lack of connection. It's not uncommon for the receiving jack to become dirty. Try plugging them into a stereo if you have one and see if the problem persists.

If you have determined that the problem is not the speakers or wiring but in the computer, try downloading and installing the latest driver.

The two speakers emit no sound, they are not found under devices, but you hear a bit of static when you plug them into the port. Surely there cannot be drivers for such a device.I have an Acer with...

Hi maggiepiano1
Check first if you plugged the jack in the right slot ( green ) .
Your speakers don' t need drivers but your sound card well . Check that also .

Hello, I own logitech speakers x-530 composed all Gerawe and it looks good only in that they do not make no noise please help me ...

Hi,

I assume that you are trying to run them from a pc, try plugging them into another sound source like tv headphone socket or a media player to see if any sound is emitted from these, if sound is heard then its to do with your computer. Check your sound output settings to make sure the pc isn't muted or turned down and ensure that you are plugged into the green socket on the back of the pc.

Hi, I am having trouble with my Logitech LS21 2.1 Stereo Speaker System, it is making a quite loud buzzing sound when plugged in (off or on). If you can help send a email back. Thank You Blake.

LOL. This is a common, easily solveable problem. Remove your cellphone or anything that emits radiation of any sort from the general area. Don't believe me? send a text message while sitting net to your speakers. It does this even if you arent sending a message because your phone sends intermittent signals to the cell tower. the radiation being emitted from the phone does weird things with the magnets inside the speakers.

Speakers are plugged in properly but won't work

Hi Rachelle,

First of all, make sure that the sound is not accidentally muted.

If the sounds seem to play, it means that your speaker cables are faulty or have some kind of break in them. Or, your speakers or the electronics inside them developed some kind of fault.

Unplug the speakers and the speaker cables and test them on another computer. If they work fine on another computer, the problem could be your sound drivers. You could also test the sounds, using a headphone in place of the speakers. If you can hear the sounds fine with the headphones, the problem is with the speakers or the cables.

This may be less likely since the sounds seem to play, but it's still possible that your sound driver is incorrect or not the one meant for your sound card.

Start the Device Manager (Right-click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager) and under the "Sound, video and game controllers", see that the sound driver is listed.

Double click the item in that list that contains the word "audio device" in its name. Does Device Manager say that the device is working properly? If Device Manager says that the audio device is not working properly, or if there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the device, or if it says that the drivers are not installed for this device, install the drivers from the CDs or from the laptop manufacturer's website. However, there's an easier way to do this, as given below.

Here's the easy way to get or update your sound drivers:

You could try to use this driver scanning tool, which scans the computer for needed drivers and has an option to automatically retrieve them for you.

You can download this free tool from here or directly from this link.

After you have downloaded the above file, double-click on it and follow the simple steps to install it. Then, when it asks if you want to run it, just answer yes. This is easier than manually searching, downloading and installing the drivers.

If, after trying with the above method, sound still can't be heard, you can try with the System Restore. To know more about System Restore, go to this link.

If none of the above methods worked, pull out your sound card and test it in another computer. You can also try re-installing Windows and lastly try another sound card, if it still fails to work.

Hope that helps,
Regards,
Raspal

The speakers only work on the surround plugs - either the fronts or the rears - not surround?

Chances are you speaker wires may be disconnected or shorted. Use your receiver TEST button, if it has one, to detect this problem, and others, like wrong polarity, or unmatched impedance, etc.
The test function emits a white noise from your speakers, going round them all, one by one, and it stops only upon pressing the remote TEST button again.
Should there be a problem, if your receiver is fairly new, your display should alert you to the kind of problem you may be having.
Good luck!

Only one speaker working - acer computer speakers

1 step: kindly check the connection of the left speaker if it is plugged to the right speaker properly.
2 step: Then check the balance under volume control if it has been set in the middle.
3 step: If possible check the speaker on some other device(cd player etc) other than your pc and see if the left speaker still doesn't have any sound.
if so kindly replace them

Left Speaker Problem

Sounds like the left channel in the built-in amplifier went out or possibly damage in the connector or cabling. Quick test to eliminate the PC is to connect another set of working speakers or headphones into the PC speaker jack without making any changes. If it works w/o problems then it?s the speakers. You can try plugging the speakers back into your PC and while playing something start wiggling the left channel cables and the main cable that goes into the PC. In particular pay attention to stress points like connectors. If that turns up nothing and you have the appropriate tools and skills you can open the speakers up and test out the solder points for the cables as well. As always make sure your warranty has expired completely before you open them up or start cutting away. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don?t forget to rate this post.
