I have plugged it in and it my computer will not recognize that the USB is even plugged in, but it does charge the camera.

Try all the different USB Ports on your computer, sometimes certain ports can 'glitch' and not recognize the device that you've plugged in. If you've tried plugging it in all the ports and your computer still hasn't recognized the camera, re-install the driver software for the Olympus SP800UZ.
If all else fails, you can also contact Olympus customer service, they're quite prompt and helpful.

Help with my Bell and Howell BH-10

You should have had a cable come with your camera; one end would plug in to your camera with a small square end, and the other end would connect to your computer. The computer end would be a standard USB end. You should have also received a disc in your box that had software to load onto your computer. Once that software was loaded, you would plug the camera in. Your computer would recognize the camera and startup the software. A box would open and it owuld give you a choice of things to do. Usualy it would give you thumbnail views of all of the pictures in your camera and ask if you wanted to copy only some of the pictures over to the computer, or all of them. It would also allow you to delete all of the pictures from your camera.
ddddddddd
If you go to either of the following websites you can download the software you need.

http://www.bioticaindia.com/bh-10.html

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=

That should do it.

After you delete very thing you have installed on your computer that has anything to do with your camera,
Download this and don't have your camera plug into your computer then install this it works....

: MR97310c Mini Digital Camera Drivers Version 2.03 All Functions work.zip

* Turn on your computer or reboot.(this ensures consistent starting point)
* Connect your camera to the PC using USB 1.1 cable.
* When the found new hardware window opens install drivers automatically.
* * the found new hardware window may open up more than once. If so then click install drivers automatically for each time it opens up.
* Double click the "PCCam" shortcut in your "All Programs" menu and follow directions.

If this does does not work ...

* Check to make sure the USB port is working properly in device manager.
* Make sure your computer is running a fully updated version of supported Microsoft Windows platform. Check computer properties for version of OS.
* Try having the camera turned on before connecting it to your computer.

Canon camera downloading

An update from Mccoyb:

I have to take back some of the previous conclusions about the problem being with the Canon Camera. I based conclusion on the belief that I'd previously had the same problems on a different computer. I think that is now incorrect.

Adding to previous comments above:
I pulled the memory card out of my camera and into an SD CardReader. Plugged the cardreader into the USB port where the camera had been. Again, problems. I switched USB ports. Still, problems reading the card reliably just as the camera had done.

I took the same USB cable to another computer. This time, I could access all data flawlessly on BOTH the cardreader the camera. On this computer, no Canon software had been installed, so I used Microsoft's tool (automatically pops up when camera turned on) to copy the pictures to the hard drive.

I'm starting to think my USB drivers on one computer are somehow completely hosed up. So many different hardware USB ports should not simultaneously start failing. In addition, I tried a THUMB DRIVE and it had very slow performance and problems recognizing the drive letter. However, I tried an external 500 GB hard drive, and the drive letter came up without any problems.

Something may have changed with a Microsoft update that caused USB drivers and/or handling of the USB ports to change. Either that, or there is a virus impacting only the USB ports.

Anyhow, I don't believe it's the camera now or the memory cards.

Pentax EI-100 not downloading pictures

Check the connecting usb cable that connects the camera with computer. Excessive usage causes cables breakages.
  1. Replace the usb cable with a new one available at a very low cost in market.
  2. Try other Usb ports on computer to plug in the camera
Hope it works. If not contact me again

Downloading digital camera to computer

I'm not familiar with the Vivicam, but most cameras do not require any software. You just plug in the cable to a USB port on the computer and then look in Start - My Computer for the camera's memory. If that does not work, try some other USB device to make sure the computer's USB port is actually working. A memory stick would be perfect to try. If the port does not work, take the computer back to the store and have them fix it. Probably just a matter of the ports not being enabled in the computer setup or a loose connection. If you have ports on both the front and back of the computer, try them. If all else fails, you could use a card reader. Many all-in-one printer devices have card readers and you can buy a little card reader for perhaps $25 so you can take the memory card out of the camera and read it on the computer.

Camedia software to see my camera via the USB port.

I'm assuming a Windows Machine (98 or 2000), and that you have (known to be) working USB ports. Boot your computer. Plug the computer end of the USB cable directly into the computer USB port (not a hub). Turn off the camera. Plug the camera end of the USB cable into the 3000. Then turn on the 3000. Windows should recognize new hardware. When Windows asks about drivers for the new hardware, direct it to your Camedia CD. Probably directory \USB\Win98 (or 2000) or something similar. Windows should then load the driver automatically. I *don't* think the 3000 will show up as a Drive device in My Computer. I think only the 2040/3040/E10 models will. But, Camedia should see it now. Toward the left-hand side (center) of the Camedia screen you should see a camera icon. Click it and it should open directories, drill down till your pix appear as thumbnail images. If Camedia says it can't find the camera, select Edit/Options/Download from the Camedia menu and ensure that USB is the selected choice.
