I have a light blue banner at the bottom of my display screen that will not go away. I thought it was a message indicator. I have checked all of my messages -text and voice mail but it still remains. How do I get rid of it?

The flex that connects your screen to the phone board is bad and has worn out. It is commom with flip phones. All you need do is to replace the flex and be very mindful of how you close the flip phone.
If its a flip or slide handset, then the flex ribbon is damaged, this will need to be changed...
Sliding and flip phones have a thin ribbon, which connects the phones screen and any buttons that are at the top to the phones main PCB... A damaged one of these can cause anything from no display at all, white screen, fuzzy colours, rotated screen, dodgy bits, non functioning buttons and lots of other things.
Depending on your model you may be able to get a ribbon from somewhere like ebay and fit it yourself, some are more awkward than others, there should be a guide available somewhere, however it does depend on which phone it actually is :)
