Question about Jensen Q2749J 27" TV

1 Answer

Pink screen Picture has started to turn pink. Up until a few days ago, color would normalize after 10-15 minutes, now appears to be a permanent feature. Is this an inexpensive fix considering the value of the tv or do I just look to buy a new one? Thanks.

Re: Pink screen

Is your grey scale or Black and white programming pink?? Thats an indication that the green and blue grids on the picture tube are week or that the red is over driving. First thing is take off the back of the set. Find the end of the picture tube and look at the printed curcuit board there. see if you can find and red drive controls there. Put on a black and white pic and ever so slowly rock that red drive control a little at a time till the picture looks almost normal.. If you get it to be a little \less pink then stop right there but if it starts to get a bit green or blue then try rocking those controls all back and forth till you get the bese B&W picture you can BUT BE VERY CAREFULL as there is alot of voltage on this picture tube and if your not carefull it will bite ya. Now dont be too critical as the tube is a bit weak so you probably wont get a perfact grey scale so if after a while live with it or get a new set. Good Luck.

Got it new at Walmart in 2006? Never had any problems with it, and always had a surge protector. I know the kids have abused it though. Anyway, yesterday they had a pink, washed screen, turned it off/on...

hello.... do you have any speakers near your television? what color is the circle your talking about? Do the green, pink colors are scattered all over the screen and specially on the corners?
If you have or had speakers near your tv? then do this try to get a magnet.a magnet on a speaker would do.what you have to do is to place the magnet near the screen of the tv approx. above the green, pink color (turn it on first).you will notice the that the color will react with the magnet try to pull it on the side you will notice that the green, pink color is moving on the same direction do it until its gone.NOTE make sure youll not scratch the screen me what happened. GOODLUCK

TV Picture is tinted pink

depending on how much you paid for the tv , the cost of the repair may be more than the tv is worth. but if this is a large tv , then the repair would be most likely worth it

Pink coloration framing my picture

Are there any speakers close to the TV? Move them, as the magnets in them are causing the problem.

If the TV has a 'degaussing' feature, select that.

Try turning off at the power point, waiting for a minute and turning back on... you may have to do this a few times.

Failing all the above, a tech can use a degaussing wand to restore it.
