Hi my desktop crashed and i am using a lap top till i get another desktop. i have tried to install my 123copy platinum onto the laptop but i get a message i have to have .net framework v4.0.30319 installed. how do i do that?

select files and save them onto C drive

have you got the same softwares avilable as in your old book ,make sure you have office word to access if you have then right click and use open with select avilable document reader ¬

Make sure that you are running the program under Administrator rights - especially if you are using Vista. On vista, in the start menu, right click the 123copy program and select "Run as Administrator". If you still get your error after this, try restarting your computer. If still nothing, then re-install the 123copy software.

Windows Vista is the last operating system that you would want to use for legacy hardware -legacy being anything that requires a usb to rs 232c adaptor. Scripts required to make this work would drive you to an abacus. If you need to have a cash register input on a permanent basis I would recommend another operating system, even a real old computer would be easier to interface or you could use the modem output of the Samsung to connect to your laptop in a LAN configuration maybe even with a null modem connection. Vista will drive you crazy with permission denials with cries of cyber-sodomy with an analog interface directly connected. The Samsung 755 has a USB interface but since you don't have the correct input for your laptop it will be far easier to use the cash register an an old (cheap) computer with an RS 232 interface and connect it to your laptop with a wired or wireless LAN configuration. Those USB to DB9 0r DB25 or PS2 adaptors still cannot match the speed parameters that the laptop US Host controller would ever find acceptable. Windows XP or 2000 might be a consideration but Vista is already neurotic enough without interfaces it was not designed to accomodate. Try this:

1. Turn on the laptop
2. Wait for the first page to go blank.
3. Start to press the F8 key repeadly
4. You should get a Windows Start" page pop up that gives options on how you want to start Windows.
5. If you see the Windows Logo (the screen you normally see when Windows starts) screen then just restart the laptop again.
6. Choose "Last known Good Configuration" and press Enter.

If that fails then please post back and we can try some other things.

sounds really bad. hard drive crash scene most likely. You might want to boot from install disk to see if the rest of the machine is happy or not.
