Question about Samsung DVD-VR357
All of a sudden, the audio went out. went through all the settings as per the manual and all is set as recommended. picture is still very clear. tested the hdmi cable with another device and that was fine too. any suggestions?
If it had quit "overnight" I would guess sabotage (i.e. a dog chewing a cable or a child changing a setting like say analog to digital) but since it crapped out right in the middle of the program.. bummer.
Your troubleshooting has been correct so you know the cable and amplifying system (tv speakers) are working the culprit is the DVD player.
Is there another way to route audio from this device? It may support digital audio as coax or optical. It may also have RCA audio output. The RCA out is most likely to work with anything but have the least quality sound.
If all of these are not working you will need to contact mfg. support
or your local electronic appliance repair man.
