I keep getting a large zoom box on my screen, and I can't get it off. I have searched everywhere on the internet and I can 't seem to find a solution. it has so big where it takes up the whole screen. I don't know how to shut this feature off. It only seems to happen if my computer sits for a little while. What is going on?

Larger as in -- the screen looks fatter. 4:3 stretched to 16:9 or as in Larger as in, screen is longer but thinner? 16:9 / 10 fitting onto ratio 4:3?
Asuming... its the second one -- that ur screen is box 4:3 and the picture is huge 16:9 which is why u need to "zoom out" to get the full picture -- are u sure some idiot didnt mess with the settings and make the tv "zoom in" if it isnt a aspect ratio issue?
... if it is a aspect ratio issue, and ur using 4:3 (small old box televisions) there should be a ratio setting either on ur television OR on ur set top box, that would by defualt with digital tv have wide screen 16:9 -- id suggest finding the settings either on the tv or the set top box or...
just get a bigger tv that supports 16:9 cheap for 50 bucks.
You can press Ctrl + - Or you can adjust the zoom level of your PC in Display settings, also which version of Windows are you using and please do upgrade your browser to a newer one as I see it is IE7, I recommend IE9 for Windows 7 and IE10 for 8.
In the current version of Firefox the method remains largely unchanged. Open Firefox, click on TOOLS (on the menu bar at the top), click on ADD-ONS, and when the new window opens up (provided you're connected to the internet), you can click on the "Get add-ons" button at the top left. Immediately below that button you'll see a search box where you can type a particular add-on name (like Adblock, FastestFox, Ghostery, IE Tab 2, Image Zoom, or dozens of other highly useful programmes) or you can click the link on the right side of the box which says "Browse All Add-ons", which will open a new browser page allowing you to search for all your favourites, or something wonderful and new.
Try in your browser menu VIEW>ZOOM when you are on the internet. You can also try EASE OF ACCESS or ACCESSIBILITY icons under windows CONTROL PANEL (depending on version of Windows) to adjust size of texts and such of other programs in Windows.
Was exactly what you said. The cable box settings were in wide mode. Couldn't figure it out at all. Funny thing was too.. on my cable box remote, the button under the #9 button is the # button.. it doesn't say zoom at all.. but it totally controls the zoom.
So thanks for that.. AND thanks for saying "under the #9 on the cable remote" instead of just saying .. the zoom button.
There is an opion under conrol panel, accessibility options to zoom or enlarge fonts etc. for visually impaired people.. But also I guess there might be a hot key you have hit by accident, that zooms the desk top. What model of HP? Also right mouse click the desktop, click properties & check the 'appearance' settings.. There is an option for large icons & fonts. Maybe the HP hotkeys hook into that Windows option. Rgds,
