Question about HP ScanJet 3970 Flatbed Scanner
I have been using my HP ScanJet 3970 for years with no problems. My PC has received several automatic updates and now the HP Director software does not respond. I click on the icon and nothing at all happens.
I have reinstalled the Version 2.2 HP photo & imaging software from the original CD and downloaded it from the HP help site. Still does not work. I also downloaded all the patches and updates. Still does not work at all. I have Internet Explorer 7.0, Windows XP, and have had the 2 Windows service pack updated.
When I open the HP Director icon and select "run as", I get the following error: Select Skin - Error There are no skins located at c:program files/hewlit-packard/digital imaging/bin/skins
I do not know much about this, but I also had the same problem with the HP Image Zone photo software, after the above mentioned updates and was able to correct it by downloading the service pack 2 and other updates. I have not tried to use the scanner until now.
