Install a genuine copy of windows. If it is a genuine copy of windows 7 or 8 you need to keep refreshing the authentication online. This is usually done without your knowledge or need for any interference. Sometimes a genuine copy will need to be verified by microsoft, this can be done using a freephone number that is given at the Authentication stage.

Upgraded motherboard and windows 7 in restore during startup

If you put in a hard drive that already had an OS on it and such, it won't work since the new computer has different parts from the last. You will have to buy Windows 7, or obtain windows through some method of your choice and do a clean install. Sorry buddy.

I have microsoft office 2010 preloaded but the product key given is not valid.

If it is a NEW computer, go back to the sales source and get them to advise you. If you have a GENUINE product key and a genuine copy of Office, simply ring Microsoft. Make sure you have both the CD and the Product Key when you call. Microsoft are out to get "cheats" - they are not out to screww the legitimate user.

I keep getting tossed into Protection error or Blue Screen!

The harddrive from another computer, with an O/S installed on it already, is the problem.

Am I to assume the harddrive you're trying to install, has Windows for an O/S?

Microsoft's Users License states, "One GENUINE copy of Windows per One computer"
The genuine copy of Windows on the harddrive you're trying to install, has already been Activated on the computer it came out of.

(Microsoft has a Master disk of each Windows O/S. The copy the user obtains, is a copy made from this disk. It is then a Genuine copy from Microsoft. If it isn't a Genuine copy, it is an illegal copy)

When Windows is installed on a computer, it assigns 'codecs' to major hardware components of the computer.
Think of these 'codecs' as serial numbers, for the hardware components.
(No computer owner personal information is recorded. Just THAT genuine copy of Windows, to THOSE hardware components)

Some of the major components are, Processor, Harddrive, Motherboard, (More specifically the BIOS program and version, that's on the BIOS chip),
and Graphics chip. (GPU)

Change two or more hardware components, and a 'red flag' is put up. 'Codecs' do not match for the AOpen motherboard, and the hardware components on it.
(Different BIOS program, different Processor, and different GPU)
Therefore, it is believed to be installed on more than one computer.

Easiest solution would be to buy a full installation disk of Windows, and install it.
[Also go into BIOS Setup, and in Boot Order, set the first boot device to CDROM]

Please help me

Unfortunately Microsoft has invoked the "WGA"
(windows genuine advantage tool) and constantly checks your copy of microsoft products for validity.
There are many sites dedicated to overcoming this intrusion which many consider an invasion of privacy.
Unfortunately I cannot post the links to these sites here due to the legal ramifications, but a search containing the following parameters "wga tool virus avoid " Will offer solutions.
I NEVER reccomend using the automatic Automatic updates from windows, I prefer to use the "download updates but let me choose when to install" located in your control panel under "automatic updates".

Please rate FixYa Experts assistance, whether your rating is good or bad helps The experts immensely.
Thank you for taking the time.

This happens when you install an update from microsoft for Windows, and particularly Windows XP. Some people install copies of the retail vesions of windows that came with another computer. And this may lead to another problem. Such as Windows genuine advantage validation checks to fail. This happens when you use a pirated copy of windows XP.

It is always suggested that using a genuine purchased and licensed copy of windows XP will ensure technial support from Microsoft and their partners. This will help you from the message that you have been encountered.

If you believe you are using an original purchased version of Windows, then I would suggest you to change the windows Product key. And this will help you stop this message.

The reason you get this meassage is that, the windows product key that you are using is illegal and blacklisted by microsoft. Changing the key to an original product key will solve this issue.

The Product key changer tool is available for download free from microsoft' website.
