If there's no water at all, make these checks:

  • Is there water getting to the machine?

  • Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way?

  • If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown?

  • Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.

1) Verify power is getting to the machine. Check for a tripped circuit breaker.
2) Verify water is getting to the machine- First, turn off the water then disconnect the inlet hoses on the back of the washer. Turn water on slowly and verify that is coming out of the hose. If water is coming out then check for any obstruction or sediment in the inlet valves. Clean, if necessary. If there is no water flow, disconnect the hose and look for obstructions or simply replace it.
3) If water is getting as far as the inlet hose connections, then remove the back access panel. Check the inlet hoses to make sure they are not kinked or damaged in any way.
4) If water is getting as far as the inlet hoses, then the problem probably lies in the water valve or water valve solenoid. Time to call in a pro.
That should help you figure it out. Though I would recommend replacement as it is most likely time for a new one.
Thanks,
Lee

Water will not come in to affinity washer

Good Afternoon friend, thank you for your post!

I understand that water is not entering your Frigidaire Affinity washer. If the washing machine thinks that the door or lid is not closed, the water will not enter the machine. I recommend that you verify that there are not any visible defects with the door latching mechanism. I also recommend that you visually inspect the water inlet hose to make sure that it is not twisted or restricted. Lastly, please verify that the water supply faucet is completely open and not closed. You may want to avoid running water in other areas of your house while the washer fills. If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve your issue, I recommend that you allow a professional to properly diagnose your washer for you in order to avoid purchasing any unnecessary parts. -NS

Samsung front load washing machine, WF42H5200AF, less than 4 months old giving code 4e when warm or hot temperature is pushed. Can only wash in eco warm or cold. I have drained and cleaned out to front...

Error code 4E is a water supply error.
Check the following:
  • Foreign material is entering the water supply valve.
  • The water supply valve terminal is not connected.
    (Wire disconnected)
  • The warm water and rinse connectors are wrongly connected to each other.
  • This occurs if the PCB terminal from the drain hose to the
detergent drawer is not connected. Check whether the transparent hose is folded or torn.
Possible Parts Affected are:
  • Water supply Valve
  • Main PCB
  • Obstruction of the water line.
To Check the water supply:
Check the resistance for the water supply valve. Resistance: 0.9~1.1k? between the terminals of the water supply valve

GLTF1240ASO Front Door Won't Lock/Close

Most probably your door lock is damaged. You are not supposed to force it open, you have to wait for at least 2 minutes (or till the lock sign is off) after the wash is over to open the door, never force it.
You can just google your model number and search for parts to obtain it. It is quite possible you can change it yourself. See that the line is disconnected from the mains.

Why is my frigidaire washer not spinning?

  1. Stopped Mid-cycle
    • If your Frigidaire washing machine started spinning, but then stopped, verify that the power cord is still connected to the outlet. See if the outlet blew by plugging in a different appliance into the outlet. See if you blew a fuse. A blown fuse usually is either black or has broken wires. Replace the fuse. If you have a circuit breaker instead of a fuse box, reset the circuit breaker if it's been tripped. Check the lid switch, which is located inside the main housing of the washing machine, near the door frame. If the switch is burned out, order a new part from a Frigidaire parts dealer.
    Pump
    • The pump's sole responsibility is to remove water during the spin cycle. If the pump isn't working properly, see if it's clogged with debris or clothing. Use needle-nose pliers to remove these items. Check the pump pulley, which is connected to the pump. This component must move freely for the pump to work. If it won't turn, purchase a new pump pulley since you can't usually fix this component.
    Lid
    • Check the door latch assembly if the door isn't closing correctly. If any of these components are broken, order a new part from a Frigidaire parts dealer. If you do not, the washer won't start spinning since it believes the door isn't closed. Your Frigidaire washing machine won't start the spin cycle until the lid or door is closed. Always close the lid, and remove any items preventing the lid from fully closing. Always close the dispenser drawer.
    Additional Concerns
    • Never over- or under-load your washing machine. Your Frigidaire washer may not enter the spin cycle if the load is too large, since this can damage the washing machine. Remove a few pieces of clothing. If the load is too small, add a few similar items to the washing machine. Check the internal belt, drive motor and motor coupling. If any of these components are broken or very worn, they may not work properly, preventing the washer from entering the spin cycle. Order replacement parts from a parts dealer. Check the tub and basket bearings, and get new ones if the current ones have broken components or are defective.

Hi, I have a zanussi wwashing machine model= ghg1200apm. The door won't open. I plugged out the machine after the wash and when i plugged it in again, the door wont open. Can you help me?

Hi.

The door does not open because there is water inside the machine. To open the door you need to empty the tub first.

To empty the tub disconnect power, open the door at the bottom of the machine's front side, unscrew the drain filter cap and collect water using a container.

Usually that is enough to allow the door to open. If the door does not get released, try running a cycle again.

If still no luck, then the door is locked either because the pressure switch detecting water level is clogged with soap or because the power surge has damaged some component. In that case the machine must be partially disassembled to reach the back of the door opening mechanism. The door latch is reachable either from drain filter access or from top of the appliance.

Emptying water through the drain filter and/or restarting a cycle usually is enough to release the door lock.

Regards.

My kenmore fronload washer will not spin out water from cycle. when I opened the door after wash close were soaked and water in maching.

Not knowing the model of your machine, I can provide some generic advice. Please add a comment to this thread if you need more help. This is almost certainly a simple problem with your empty pump filter being clogged. The empty cycle is timed and if it can't get all the water out in time because the filter is blocked and slowing the empty down, then it will fail safe and won't step on to the final spin cycle with excess water in the drum. While it's trying to get the water evacuated, you will probably see the machine doing a slow tumble for up to 8 minutes and you may also hear the empty pump running too.
You need to locate and clean the filter. Depending on the model there is probably a round filter cap on the front of the machine at the bottom (It may be behind a small door or hidden behind a clip on panel on the bottom) Many models of this design also have a small hose to the left of the filter cap that you can pull out, remove a plug from and drain off any water in the filter before you remove the filter and get your floor wet, so take a look for this before you remove the filter and get soaked.

Try some WD40 on the machine door mechanism, not on the door; & open/close the door while the machine switch is off, for the mech to become free.
