Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Pls postback the exact model number of the TV. Alternately, pls try on the original remote:

  • If QuickLock is activated it will lockout all video outputs and channel and channel 3 &4;
  • Get into the custom menu and select quick lock
  • Enter "0 0 0 0" as the 4 digit pass code;
  • turn off the parental lock feature
If the above does not work, then an internal fault has developed. On some models, the technically correct procedure would then be:
  • Check around the data and clock line and determine if the clock line was pulled to ground;
  • The easiest place to gain access to the clock and data line would be to go to IY501(18 & 19)
  • Floating these pins on IY501 and removed the "Child Lock" feature
  • Replace IY501;
  • The normal state on these two pins is 5 volts measured with a DVM, or 5 volts peak to peak with an oscilloscope;
  • This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

    Appreciate the postback/comment and additional information on the specific model.

    To your concern:

    • reset the unit by unplugging from the mains for a couple of hours to dissipate residual power and revert unit to factory default;

    • in some versions/models, there are multiple locks: child lock, channel lock, video lock, quick lock;

    • on the original remote;
    To Cancel: (If Code has not been Changed)
    1) Select the channel that's locked.
    2) Press the MENU button
    4) Press the ENTER button
    5) Press the ENTER button and the picture and sound return to normal
    6) Press the MENU button
    (For tomorrow, set CHILD LOCK again if necessary.

    To Cancel: (If Code has been Changed)
    1) Select the channel that's locked.
    2) Press the MENU button
    4) Press the ENTER button
    5) Enter correct CODE
    6) Press the ENTER button and the picture and sound return to normal
    7) Press the MENU button
    (For tomorrow, set CHILD LOCK again if necessary.

    If you've forgotten your Code.
    If "CHILD LOCK INCORRECT KEY NUMBER appears for a moment,
    it means that you have entered a wrong key number. Enter the correct
    number after this indication disappears. If you do not know the correct key number, enter 777.
    At this time your key number will be returned to the basic key number 000.

    If I may comment, the information on the model number (50V569A) you posted does not jive with your initial post of a 46 Hitach HDTV, however a 50V569A would indicate a 50 incher unit or would it be a 52in HDTV as you posted here. Pls bear with me and confirm the model number at the rear of the unit. A typical 46 inch Hitachi would have a model number like 46HDX62 or CMP460V1 or combination to that effect.

Just unplug your tV from AC mains, and leave it thus for about 10 minutes, and then replug it back. See whether this process help you or not. If yes it's ok. If not, and you did forget the passcode, there is a way to clear the passcode.
[1] Press MENU to display the MENU screen, and then press C/D to select serup.
[2] Press a/b to select "EZ SETUP", "CH SETUP", PARENTIAL CONTROL" OR "RESET" and the secret number input screen displays.
[3] Press and hold both CH r and VOL k on the tV simoultaneously until the messege appears on the screen. As a precutionary mesure, make a not of the secret number above, and keep it in a safe place.

If you cant get any menu screen, make sure that the main system control section indie the circuit board is faulty. It may be wither to a loss of supply voltage to that section or a damge to its system memory IC. System memory IC damge is a common fault to most of the TVs, and it will not cost more as this 8 solder terminal IC wont cost more. If you are aware in electroncis, and have confidence to do this work, and have ability to follow the schematic diagram of the set, inform me by Fixya. OK.

I have a cracked screen and I need to know where i can get a replacement one. Thank you

The screen cost more than the entire TV....... better off selling that for parts and getting a new TV. Panels are hard to find and doesn't matter because their too expensive anyway...

The battries in remote are new. the remote wont change channels or turn power on and off.The buttons on the tv set wont work either.It keeps saying child lock is on.

As the remote is not working please

1.check the batteries are properly installed with correct polarity.(+ and -)

2.Check weather correct remote operating is set.(TV,VCR etc)

If both are OK then please programm your remote again with the TV.As you removed your battries it might reset the code

When using buttons on TV it says CHILD LOCK is ON.

Child lock fuction is to prevent children operating buttons in TV console. This can be set only by remote. Cannot set by TV console Buttons.If this fuction is activated you cannot use the TV console buttons.

I can help you unlock your Mitsubishi HDTV V-Chip.

Please follow these steps to bypass the vchip or reset the V Chip password.

These steps are actually for a Mitsubishi Projection HDTV, but I think they may work for a Mitsubishi LCD HDTV too.
