Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
"F11" is a Serial Communications error. Before assuming you have a problem with your washer, the manufacturer recommends unplugging the appliance for at least 30 minutes to reset the computer. In many cases this is all that is required to correct momentary computer glitches. If you try this and the problem persists, the following link explains the "F11" error in more detail:
In most cases this error turns out to be a failure of the Central Control Unit (CCU). If the Motor Control Unit (MCU) fails, there is usually an additional error code that will appear. I say "usually", but not always. I hope you find this information helpful. If you require additional assistance (i.e., parts, instructions, etc.) please let me know.

Check all the wire connections at CCU and MCU. With the unit running and top cover off, wiggle connections to try and induce the fault. If it faults when touching the connectors at the CCU, it could be a connection issue or a bad board. In my case it was a bad CCU. Part house wanted $250 for it but found it online for $175. Took 5 minutes to install.
