Question about Phones

4 Answers

Constant beeping my 88 year old mother retrieved messages via handset and deleted them as usual. now the phone will not stop beeping and the message counter reads 5. when i try to receive them i just get a hang up sound. i tried removing batteries for a day or two but still the same. i searched the net for a reset solution but got nothing. so this is 1 last effort before i get her a new one. it is just that she likes this one and will be a pain if i dont get one she likes.

Although most phones are similar in design, every phone is differant from manufacturer to manufacturer. Telling us what your make and model would be a huge step in delivering a spot on solution. But to not go away empty handed try erasing the rest of the messges. Pushing your menu button and scroll to your messaging options and there should be a clear all messages. Try that and if those don't work get us the specific make and model. I hope this helps. Anything for mom right?

I was not able to find any specs on your mothers particular brand of phone. Does she have the owners manual handy? Otherwise I can only suggest trying out the menu button and clean sweeping all of the messages. Try also listening to the messages and deleting one at a time. If the beepng continues try pishing the stop button. But without knowing your phone specifically I can only suggest. Thank you for your time and i hope i was able to assist

have you unplugged the whole unit or just the handheld part, try disconnecting everything for an hour and see if that resets the system

You're subscribed to a voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Uniden 5.8Ghz phone.

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.

Red blinking lights

Here are sample paragraphs from the user manual : hope it helps !

The new message LED on the handset flashes when you have new messages in your
answering system. The LED stops flashing when all new messages are played back.

3) To delete all messages, press delete messege in standby mode. Press delete
messege
again after the announcement "To delete all messages, press delete
again."
When you try to delete all messages without first listening to your new messages,
you hear several short beeps followed by an announcement "Please playback all
messages." This protects you from accidentally erasing messages you have not yet
reviewed.
Important:
When you press delete messege, you are permanently deleting the message. Once
deleted, the message cannot be replayed or retrieved.
