Could be anything.

One of the fans might not be turning. The projectors I work on here have3-4 fans, and they all have tachometers (a third wire). some times the tac goes bad and the fan has to be replaced. The only way to tell is to use an oscilliscope to measure the signal from the fan, or to replace the fans one at a time. If that doesn't fix the unit, then you might have a bad: power, main or ballast board. Again, the only real way to find out which is by measuring or substituting.

The bulbs are very costly and they have a short life as is. Stop replacing and get a new unit. The repair is not worth the cost and a new unit has a warranty for at least a year.

More than 5 years old. After replacing bulb you have to reset the lamp hours as follows. To reset the lamp timer, navigate to the Settings>Service menu and select "Reset Lamp Hours"

Hi,

It sounds like the projector itself has a fault. Sadly it's often uneconomic to repair budget projectors which are out of warranty when the cost of repair is compared to that of replacement. You should speak to Optoma support and see who their local agent is, and then ask for a quote.

UK support can be found here

They will usually charge a fee to have a look and then they'll offer an estimate for repair.

HP vp6320 projector ten seconds it shuts off

I had the same problem, the first couple of replacement bulbs i ordered worked fine but the last 3 i got, 2 of them have been faulty, i just sent them back and they replaced them. If its too late to send the bulb back you can go to the settings on projector, select lampsaver setting, its probably set at off, turn it on. Your bulb will be a little dimmer in this setting but shoud let the projector run ok.

Viewsonic pj800

I had the same problem with a few pj800's that I have worked on. It turns out that with old age and constant hot and cold temperature exposure the pixels in lcd panels will become shorted or actually die out. When current is applied there is no pixel activity therefore causing distorted images and lines that appear to drop out or down in the picture. Replacement of all 3 lcd assemblies is needed to correct problem. And being such an old projector the price of the parts would exceed the cost of a new bulb. I reccomend trying to find a used one for parts working or not 99% of the time the lcds are usually fine. Or check out ebay for some used projectors you can find up to date used ones with three times better picture quality than the pj800 for under $300.00 shipped. Good luck!

Optoma hd72 bulb turning off

This is NOT a bulb problem unless your "lamp" LED is lit, which you say it is not. Many people have reported this problem with the Optoma 72. You can send it in for warranty service (it has a 2-year warranty) to get the lamp controller chip replaced, but the problem may recur. Optoma does not appear to have a permanent solution to this problem. My projector has broken exactly like yours TWICE in a year. I haven't even needed to replace the original bulb yet. :(
