Streaks on stainless steel tub of both kitchen aid dishwashers

As noted above and some residue noted on glassware. I have run 2 cycles with white vinegar and the inside tubs are still streaky. I talked to my plumber and he suggested the aforementioned fix for my stated problems. Both dishwashers, flanking my center sink started with this problem about 6 weeks ago. I cleaned the tub with some ss cleaner when it started, and made sure my jet dry was filled and checked any other problem I could think of, but the steps haven't worked perfectly. I would say maybe the tub is marginally better, but I also haven't run a full load since I ran the vinegar twice in each washer. Any ideas to solve this problem?

the inside is all streaky, the glasses have a film on them, and the dishwasher takes longer than normal to run the cycle

Same problem, streaking started after over a year of operation. The door panel is the worse, white streaking that cannot seem to be removed.

I have city water and the plumbing is less than 3 years old as is the sink. One dishwasher is 6 years old and the other 3, I did some research on the KitchenAid site and the site suggested Dishwash magic to soften the water and prevent water stains. Any other ideas are welcome!

Washer tub is discolering and it has discolered the flat ware, left a film on the glass ware.

There could be several reasons for the film deposit inside dishwasher and on glassware.

What colour is the film - dark or white?

Are you using rinse aid? If you are in hardwater area then check the salt is adequate in the water softener chamber.

Whte residue left on glassware and dishes

use a dishwashing cleaning agent in the machine. or some thing the has a grease cutting agent.run this on an empty cycle.
there are times residue grease and oils can accumulate down in the sump area where the water sits and can cause film on the dishes.
this could also be some lime or scale build up for that you can use some C.L.R or any kind of lime and scale remover to clean your machine.
make sure tht that this is done on an empty dishwasher

My LG dishwasher stainless steel tub is getting an ugly residue. I have tried to clean it with a stainless steel cleaner but it doesn't help. I am also not happy with the cleaning of my dishes. I have...

If residue is a brown color it can be minerals in the water. You can buy a stainless steel cleaner, just put it in the machine and run it thru a cycle.
Use only good brand name detergent - no tablets- use rinse aid- check arms for blockages-stack dishes with soiled side facing the centre-
LG are an excellent dishwasher

KUDI01TJWH0 kitchen aid....the clean light is blinking and wont do anything else....how do we reset or do we just need to take it in for repair?????

To invoke the diagnostic cycle, perform the following key presses in less than 6 seconds while in standby.

Heated Dry -> Normal -> Heated Dry -> Normal

Invoking the diagnostic cycle clears all status and last run information from memory and restores defaults. It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle. (quoted from service diagnostic cycle notes in troubleshooting guide)

Want to replace dishwasher panel with stainless steel

Yes indeed! If you know the measurements, you can buy a stainless panel from www.applianceart.com cut to any size you would like. THey also have a cheaper "faux" stainless option too. Many colors and designs as well.

Streaks on glassware/silverware

usually indicative of clogged spray heads, or spray arms not spinning, too much detergent for your water type, wrong detergent, and low water temp.

Link to manual:

Check the manual for amounts of detergent to use based on your water hardness.

no its a hard water problem cut the amount of detergent by 1/2 but no less than a teaspoon make sure your rinse aid dispenser is full and once a year do a winger rinse use air dry or energy saving option put two cups of vinegar in a dishwasher safe measuring cup on the bottom rack.run a complete washing cycle using the air dry option no detergent the vinegar will mix with the water.run the washer through a normal cycle with detergent after cleaning the washer with the vinegar rinse this can be done once a year
