I had the same problem. You can just format the drive and the problem will be resolved.

When you hook it up to the puter, go into My computer right click on the removable drive then click on explore disc and see what oter types of files are taking up the extra memory as if there are none then the drive has bad memory cells.

Try voidMP3FM from I have a NW-E005 but the web site says the program supports the NW-E002 as well. Have used this program from day one and have never loaded sonic stage. Heard lots of complaints about it. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: says no data

Make sure that you have transferred songs with SonicStage and not any other software. If you used a software other than SonicStage, format the WALKMAN with the menu itself and transfer songs with SonicStage.Get SonicStage from link below:

Plug your player into your computer via USB. If Windows recognizes it, a new drive should show up under "My Computer". It may be called "Removeable media". It may be some letter like "G" or "H". If you have an SD card bigger than 512 MB, then find the removeable drive that is bigger than 512 MB that shows up when you plug in your MP3 player and that drive is your SD card.

1 gb mp3 player not working

Same thing happened to me. I was using windows media player to sync my song and it says my player was using 260 mb of space even though it was formatted time after time. I simply loaded as many song as I could fit on the player. When I unplugged it and plugged it back in, windows media now showed that missing 260 mb of space as available. The only catch is that the song I had already uploaded on to the player were not shown on the sync list.
