Hi,  If the amp wasn't turned on when it got wet, and if the inside of the amp is THOROUGHLY dry before you try to turn it back on, it should be fine. Open it up (power DISCONNECTED) and make sure everything is clean and dry before trying it again.
It will either fire right up, or pop a fuse. If the fuse blows, something happened to it while it was wet, and did some serious damage inside.

Power up without the speakers off, if the problem still exist, check output and driver transistors for leek or short.

Not powering on

To troubleshoot amplifiers when it's not starting up

check the base to base voltage of driver transistors might be too high.

Make sure that the amplifier's ground wire is tightly attached. If it doesn't look too good then take it out and clean it. Use a metal brush to clean that area.

Low power may cause your amplifier not to turn on. Make use of voltmeters to check if your amplifier is getting the right amount of power for it to work. Amplifiers need 110 volts or less to function if the power coming in does not reach that it means you have la defective power cable. If the power is alright and it reaches a minimum of 110 volts, and your amplifier still doesn't turn on that means that there is a problem with its power supply. Checking an inline fuse helps you to determine the appropriate amp ratings when you troubleshoot amplifiers. This is the best way to troubleshoot amplifiers with power problems.

To troubleshoot amplifiers that seems to be on standby mode

Look into your input sensitivity. An input control allows you to match output voltage that is coming from the main unit going to the amplifier then to the stereo speaker. The amplifier shuts down if the gains are
adjusted too high. This is simply because it overheats when it is set too high thus it automatically shuts off. When you troubleshoot amplifiers and this happens you will notice that the volume gets lower even if the setting is too high. Be aware of the optimal levels of the components when you troubleshoot amplifiers.

Your speaker's electrical impedance may also contribute as to why your amplifier may be turned on but doesn't seem to work. Impedance is the amount of current which flows with a specific voltage throughout the transistors, capacitors, etc. Just see to it that your amplifier and speakers equal in impedance range when you troubleshoot amplifiers. Use the voltmeter to check the impedance range when you troubleshoot amplifiers.

Take care..

I have vestax 05pro2. Left channel works but out of one speaker. The turntable input is good. Im thinking Its either the channel fader, or the rca inputs for that side. Has anyone had this problem?

Hi,
Here's a solution to see if you have a problem with either your receiver or turntable.
The turntable has 2 RCA's one red for right channel, and one white or black for left channel, which plug into the back of the amplifier.

  • Unplug both RCA from rear of amplifier.
  • Plug in a cd or dvd player into those inputs on the amplifier, the sound will be lower but it will give you an indication if the amplifier is ok or not.
  • If you have sound on both channels left and right then the amplifier is good
  • If you still only have sound on left channel, then there is a problem with the right channel input on the amp.
  • If your amp, is good, unplug the cd /dvd player.
  • Put a record on and start playing the record
  • Plug the white or black RCA from the turntable into the rear of the amplifier marked left, you should have sound.
  • now unplug it from the left and plug in into the right red RCA socket, if you have sound the amplifier is working fine.
  • if there is no sound there may be a problem with the stylus cartridge on the turntable
  • now lets reverse the test
  • unplug both RCA from amp.
  • Plug the red RCA into the left socket on amplifier, if there is sound, turntable is working fine, if no sound there is a problem with either the stylus cartridge or that red RCA cable.
  • now unplug the red RCA from the left side and plug it into the right side socket
  • if there is no sound there may be a problem with the stylus cartridge or RCA cable.
I hope this helps

Trying to hook up four speakers and only two are working. How do we get the other two to work?

the receiver has built in circuitry to prevent an impedance mismatch issue which may result in possible damage to the amplifier contained within the amplifier...some amplifiers/receivers will allow you to hook 2 pairs to them, but some won't...you should have 2 switches to select speakers a or speakers b...you can use either set but not both

Need to connect yamaha htr6130 receiver to an elan amplifier

Why don't we deal with the issues separately?

What are you trying to accomplish with speakers all around the house. Or did you mean around the ROOM?

You can't slave other amps off of this unit and have volume or source control at the receiver. It lacks any Preamp Outputs.

Tell us what you want to do, how things are connected (in detail) right now and maybe we can help you out.

It might also be helpful to know WHY you need to have multiple amps.

Are 2 - 125V 5 amp fuse good enough to use just to check and see if this works...was working just fine. no wires touched..am i looking at a large problem?

Fuse rating would be written on circuit board fuse located, yet 5 amp fuse will work to test the receiver/ amplifier.
If fuse blew off again, then amplifier has problem either in power supply or amplifier output section.
Qualified Tech will fix it.
Thanks.

What fuse do I use for a 600 watt car amplifier

You will need a 6 Gauge wiring kit with a 50amp fuse to the battery. You can verify this by looking at the kits being sold on the internet for 600 Watt car amps.

JVC RX-888V hook up to cable box - no video

There is some sort of setting you need to change on the JVC receiver. I had this same problem, and I read the manual and it solved it. You need to press and hold down a button to change the mode. Your unit probably says "TV Sound" right now. Once you press this button (not sure what button) like the manual says, the display should change to "DBS" and then it should work just fne.
