Your color wheel is going out and needs to be replaced. Toshiba does not list a part# for the color wheel. They expect you to have the whole light engine rebuilt. You should be able to find one on ebay. Or other sites like that. Good luck to you.

Toshiba model number 62HM95 62' makes grinding noise

SORRY, This is from the authorized Toshiba parts center:

"The color wheel, lamp fan, lamp fan holder are parts of the LIGHT ENGINE only." It means the wheel is not sold separately and there is not even listed in the breakdown for the set a part number.

A replacement light engine (optical light engine) retails for 456.00 list and is sold on an exchange basis only.

62HM95 noises

The color wheel sits inside the light engine. in other worlds they are trying to sell you the whole thing instead of just the color wheel. I have had the same problem for some time, and people have charged me $100-$150 dollars to fix my tv. I would be willing to fix your tv, and you wouldn't even need a new light engine or color wheel. If you are intrested I can do it for a very low price. I am more then quilafied to work on electronics. If you have any questions e-mail me at mvanackeren@yahoo.com

Greg,
I had the light engine on my Toshiba 52HM95 fail. Sent it to a company Tri State Modules for repair. Got it back as good as new for $249.00. Goto tristatemodule.com. I hope this helps.

Simutaneous clanking and dimming

Hello Miggs,

This sounds like a color wheel or cooling fan issue. I would take the set back and have them check the color wheel and fan assemblies.

I hope this helps
Thank you,

Hello,

Check your color wheel to make sure it is spinning properly, and that your Fresnel lenses are clean. There are tools that allow you to check for the proper RPM settings of the color wheel.

I believe that your problem is being caused by the color wheel or the color wheel motor.

I hope this helps,
