Try disconnecting it from the AC power, take out the battery and put it back in.

some older computers don't load usb devices until after windows is booted and in such instances usually a traditional ps2 mouse and keyboard (green and purple plugs respectively) are the best option to enter the bios or boot from cd/dvd

My computer wont start it is a hp pavilion a1700. Light comes on when u power it int he back. Please help

Unplug the power from the outlet for about 5 minutes then try it.
Disconnect all USB devices with the exception of the keyboard, mouse and video, if it boots, connect one USB device at a time, restarting after device is installed, un til you find the device that is causing problems.
If none of these work, you may need a replacement power supply which you could buy from your local computer repair shop for about $35, make sure you get the correct one.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck and have a great day.

HP Pavilion M9040N Elite, power lights come on, will not boot

unhook everything that is hooked to it ! Except the keyboard mouse and Display. now try it ! If that doesn't work try to start in safe mode then do a system Restore to an earlier date. there could be a number of things to cause this even a mouse, So one at a time try to remove all that you can and then go from there and one at a time hook all back up until you find it. if not there have to start inside the machine, Doing the same thing/ video, sound,cd roms/floppy/etc.hope you find it in the first round.

My mom has a Pavilion 513n desktop. At boot up it

you're receiving a "No POST" issue. It could be any base component in your system. Strip it down to the bare basics. Power supply, motherboard, RAM, CPU, fans. HDD. Then start removing those components until you receive an error message. You'll be able to figure out which part needs replacing from that.

Laptop pavilion 8310 no dispaly, getting beeps on start up

Remove laptop battery, and unplug AC power adapter for ten minutes, if this does not work there is either an hardware fault, or a system problem.

If the computer try to load Windows, then you get an error message, then you usually fix the problem reinstalling windows.

If the computer beeps and you get nothing on the screen, then it is usually an hardware fault.

I have an HP Pavilion dv5224 laptop. pe I find that when I ty at a clip, things like what just happened (my cursor somehow jumps to another place in the para--from ty to 1st line pe). This happens pretty...

Does your laptop have touchpad that acts as a mouse if you don't have a mouse plugged in (it's usually directly below the spacebar)? If any part of your hand accidentally brushes that sensitive rectangular area, it will cause the mouse cursor to jump around.

There is usually a button you can push at the top of the rectangular touchpad to turn it off while you're typing. On my HP laptop it has a blue light, and when I push the button it turns red.

Start up Probelms HP Pavilion Slimline

Unplug the AC power, remove the battery, wait a full minute and then reinstall AC and battery. See, if you now power up. Most power up problems are related to AC power, DC input jack, motherboard, memory or processor. A lot depends on your comfort level and expertise in how far you should go in self diagnosis and repair. Good Luck.
