Try resetting the picture to default settings.

Normally, this is in part due to you not replacing it with what should've been an LCD. The reason why it's dim is because those diodes are not getting the required voltage to emit as it should. LCD's work under a different concept where crystals use the light modulating properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly as LED's, because it stand for light emitting diodes.

cant, its either the lcd itself or the lcd power inverter.

If the screen light is really dim, its possible the lcd backlight has gone bad. Does it ever flashbright?

Your screen is faulty... possibly the backlight. You will need repair or replacement.

Time for a new flat screen monitor...The power supply is on it's last legs.

Follow the 2 steps I follow all the time, retry, and restore your ipod. My itouch's screen was also really dim but when i restored it, it turned bright.

ok , you have checked the brightness settings, check battery power settings as well. you may have to do a hard reset so back up your info. If doing a hard reset, pull the battery and charge it on its own if you have a cradle. Hope this works for you

A very dim screen is an indicator that the screen inverter or the screen itself is going out. Start by checking the screen connections, they sometimes work loose. If the connections are good, then it's the inverter or screen and will need to be replaced.
