Re: sony wega rear projector
What color does it flash? Also it may be blinking a code so we need you to count the # of blinks it should blink a certain # of times, then pause, and blink that same # of times again. Let me know and I will be able to help you furthur.

This kind of problem occurs when lamp becomes weak that means near to end of working life hours but still not dead nor broken. Replacement of lamp in tv will solve your problem, lamp replacement procedure is easy and would be written in user manual. Thanks.
This problem cannot be fixed without opening the TV Im assuming sound without a picture? check the inverter voltage on the powersupply for the bulb.Look for burns bulged caps.start from the the wires comming out of the bulb housing and work backwards untill your checking the wall socket.A big problem with older tv's is heat causing the board to crack try applying alittle pressure around the boards and see if it turns on.Check the bulbs but be careful with the age of this tv and the price of the bulbs you wouldnt want to buy it unless you know for sure.
on some models there is a cover on side of tv remove in reach in side (MAKE SURE UNPLUGED FIRST) ther is an other cover(SAFTY COVER )in side with a leaver on it turn ant-clock wise and pull out now reach in and feel for finger ring lift up and pull out lamp and change to put back to gether is revrse make sure to lock SAFTY COVER
the other model is behind cover on frount of tv to get this off on each side of tv ( BACK CORNERS ) there is two big black srews that can be opened with coin unod they will not come out all the way
then pull the frount cover start at ends of tv ( IT NEEDS A SHARP PULL ) to releace clips then pull middle
once removed you will see a gray cover with big black screw( SAFTY COVER ) undo and remove next you will need ALEN KEY undo two bolts they will not come out all way and pull out lamp replace and revrse above
Did you replace the lamp recently? If so then you may be using the wrong lamp wattage rating as far as the to brite issue. The cloudyness is usually from a defective lamp. Make sure the lamp u use is of the phillips brand and not of the LTI brand as these lamps are poorly manufactured..
I have a 40 but i was having the same problem. It turned out to be my lamp. I got a brand new lamp from Projector Lamp Services (relampit.com) and my tv works fine now. Im pretty sure that the 40 and the 60 take the same lamp. You might want to give them a call.
