SOURCE: Pioneer receiver sx-315

With persistence, I was able to program the Universal Remote Control provided with the cable box to control my new used Pioneer SX-315 receiver. I now can control the tv volume, cable box, auxiliary stereo receiver with speaker system with one remote. Thank goodness I did not have to resort to buying a Pioneer remote control.

I was able to program another previously unused universal remote which I purchased several years ago. However, since the other remote control did not list the Vizio TV. That brand is too new for the remote.

SOURCE: Low volume from Akai turntable attached to Pioneer Surround Sound Receiver

If you receiver doesn't have phono inputs, you will need to buy an inline phono amplifier.Phono inputs have a built in amplifier, all others don't.Try Crutchfield.com.If they don't carry them, they will tell you who does.

SOURCE: Pioneer Stero Receiver model SX-3700-

It sounds like your volume control pot has dust in it.You need to remove your cover from the receiver, spray pure denatured alcohol in the small openings in the back of you volume control dial and turn the knob all the way up and down several times and then blow low compressed air threw the same small openings while rotating your dial. That should fix your problem.Be sure you unplug your receiver before performing this procedure.

SOURCE: Can't find part needed.(Pioneer SX 1250 volume control part # ACV-169. Is there a replacement

Your only recourse at this time is to check with local servicers that may have one around in their old stock. Or check Ebay for a parts machine that you can salvage one from. I believe that the volume control from an SX-850 will be the same, so you can search for one of those as well.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Can I connect my pioneer SX-255R stereo receiver

Yes, but it depends on your laptop hardware and software. We'd need to know a lot more about that side.

What does the photo button mean on my Pioneer receiver SX 205

You surely mean the phono button.
It's a preamp which adds 32 dB of gain. But first make sure you don't blow up your speakers by turning the volume down.

Different companies have different settings.
To enable the phono preamp in some systems, Press and Hold the Phono button for a few seconds.

Pioneer elite sx-a6 keeps going to standby

I had a receiver that would shut off when I had the volume too loud. It was caused because the speakers were using too much juice. Does it work with less speakers or at low low volumes? Then this may be the case.

I solved it by getting a different receiver.

if it has nothing to do with volume then check your manual and settings for a auto standby feature that may be just putting the receiver to standby after a set time.

How can I control volume on my Pioneer SX-205 receiver from the couch?

Hello,
There is a couple ways you can do this.
1.you can use the maufacture remote control, or if you dont have one you would need a universal.
2.If your receiver is hidden, or behind closed doors than you will need a radio frequency capable universal remote

"muting" shows up the screen and I no longer get volume, can not the muting off as I can not see where I would change that setting.

Are you sure it's not the TV telling you that it's muted? I went down the tubes on that one myself.

The receiver's Mute can be defeated by just rotating the volume knob upward. Ditto with TV's.

PIONEER SX-205. Left chanel out of order. How to solve the problem?

You haven't mentioned what you have done to isolate the problem so I have to ask some stupid questions.

Is the Left Channel failing no matter what source you select?
N: Source problem / Identify the source and ask another question with new data
Y: continue...

Turn the receiver OFF.

Toggle the Tape Monitor Switch up a number of times to wear off any oxidation. Any change?
While you're at it, toggle, twist and operate every control throughout its range for the same purpose. Lower the volume.

Turn the receiver ON.
Tune an FM station.

Swap the Left Speaker leads and the Right Speaker leads at the receiver. Did it move with the speaker?
Y: bad speaker or wire
N: internal receiver problem.

Pioneer SX1280 repair

I have taken my 1280 to Austin Stereo, they are honest , upfront, and guarantee their work. So impressed that I took a 1080 that two previous techs had butchered and they fixed it to like new specs.512-451-0408 is their #. They go out of their way to help those of us that are not well versed in techspeak. Both units sound superb with the big 15 inch Cerwin Vega speakers!!!
