Try removing the stock cooler, cleaning it, removing the thermal paste, try Artic Cleaner. I would get a fan with higher CFM.
:) Good luck!

Hi there I think what may be the problem is the media that you are using (DVD +r) or(DVD-R)
That system is using the Windows Media center.Matsushita UJ-825S DVD-RAM drive Are you converting files from the system or from another PC to the the dvd back to this machine

I think you may did not check your (media dvd disc format)
And also down load the support drviers
I can supply you with those as well

I would run your windows task magager and see what aplication are using the most CPU
and shut them down when you are not using them That pc as 2 tv tuners in it and it is
has several cooling fans But that pc is problematic for running so hot... If you only need to burn the DVD then shut down the TV tuners or ONE of them

    Thank You
    Jaysom

Windows Movie Maker did that a lot for me, I think it's would be easier if you use a 3rd party DVD converting software to do it.

Usage cpu 100%

The high CPU useage could also be the virus scanning program running and if your hard disk has a lot of files, data etc. it would take a lone time to complete.
Removing unwanted files and programs will make the virus scanning complete its task quicker.

You should also carry out hard disk maintenance at least onec a month Ie Disk Cleanup and Defrag to remove temporary unwanted files and Defrag will make your files contiguous so the hard disk does not need to work as hard and efficient.

My Dell Latitude D620 is constantly spiking at 100% cpu, the problem arises especially when running the mouse over any program, it basically locks down my whole computer and nothing will run, it always...

It sounds like there could be a virus on your computer that is using up all of your CPU resources. Try to monitor the processes and CPU usage, buy pushing Ctrl + Alt + Del at the same time. This will open up the Task Manager on XP, or show you a menu screen on Windows Vista and 7, and you can click on start task manager at the bottom. View all your processes and how much cpu usage is being taken up from those processes. Look for the process using the highest cpu usage when it spikes to 100% and please repost the process name!

In the mean time might I suggest running and anti-virus scan, scanning for malware, and spyware as well. If you do not have any of these programs, I would suggest using either AVG, or Avira Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware, all of which are free programs that can be downloaded here!

Copy and paste the links into your browsers address bar...

AVG-- http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus_32/

Avira-- http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/

Malwarebytes-- http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

Super Anti Spyware-- http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/

Why is my cpu constantly running at 100% and my fan constantly running no matter what I do?

it is kind of known issues with vista OS.

Press ALT+Ctrl+Esc or go to task manager -> process-> you will get which process is taking much CPU usages.

Then right click on the particular process and delete it.

This happens most of the time because of the SVHOST.exe

To get rid from it.

Check one of the below solution provided on the forum. This should resolve your issue.

If not then please get back with the screenshot of the task manager process window. So we can determine which process is consuming the max usages of CPU.

Not able to burn dvds from file

Hi,

if your DVD Drive ( ROM ) read-Only-Memory. then it will only read DVDs And Not Write Them. You need a DVD RW Drive, to be able to write. If Your CD Drive Is A CD/RW That means its a CD Re-writable drive. try a Burn To CD.

DVD BURNING : TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND CPU USAGE GOES TO 60%

Based on the laptop model you have listed, I am afraid to say that there is not much that you can do about the time it takes to burn DVDs. Computers often come with re-writeable (RW) drives that have different speeds. Thus, on older laptops or desktops, the drives are very often slow and will take a large amount of time to burn a full DVD. As for the CPU usage, writing data from a hard drive to a DVD or a CD is a very memory and performance heavy task, especially on older computers. You can attempt to free up resources by closing as many non-essential programs as possible prior to burning a DVD... but that will not dramatically increase the speed. Not using the laptop for other purposes while it is burning a disc may also speed up the process.
