Some projection tv's will do this if you do not touch another button within 10 seconds. Power your tv on then change the volume or channel. This should let your tv know that it was not an accidental power on. Hope this helps.

Sharp LC-32LE240M automatically shuts down

It should have come with a one year parts and labor warranty so consider looking into getting it fixed under the warranty--opening set or tampering inside would void the warranty.

These sets have a tendency to have bad power supply boards. They have to be replaced as a complete assembly. you should only call out, or take this set to an authorized Sharp repair center my friend. Good Luck

Sharp LC-13AV4U - turn it on and in ten seconds it turns off. Happens every time.

There is some short with the inside circut of your TV. The short usually occurs with the inverter transformer for backligh bulbs of with video processing section. These tw sections should be checked throrughly to find out the actual short. You must have sound knoledge in digital electronics, skill to work with these section, good quality digital multimeter [analogue multimeter or low quality digital multimeters should not be touched with LCD circuits]. Actually this is not a user repairable fault. If you have all facilities mentioned above check these sections for short. OK.

Sharp LC-52SE94U shuts down and restarts automatically

There is a software update for this model via the Sharp website. Included is a link to the compressed folder. Once you uncompressed the folder there are instructions in the folder on how to install the update. It doesn't specifically say this is a fix but as a TV technician personally its the fist thing I would try.

I have an Eiki LC XBN4 that starts and then shuts down within a few seconds

check the lamp for black spots and bulges. if you have any, replace it. if not, you have a ballast/power supply issue.

Turns itself off

Sharp LC-13AV4U - turn it on and in ten seconds it turns off.
Happens every time.
Any Ideas?
This is NOT a fix, this is a permanent band-aid.
All you need is a phillips head and tiny diagonal cutters....
Heck, even a nail clipper would do it.
Just disable that faulty protection shut-down circuit!
Remove all the screws from the back cover
and look at the main board with the
unplugged! power cord towards you.
In the upper right corner of the board, you will find
a tiny red-striped zener diode, labeled as D409.
It is to the right of an electrolytic capacitor marked C403.
Snip this diode, at either end, or snip both ends and discard it.
Re-assemble the TV.....and you just got your tv back!.
I only run mine when I am sitting in front of it,
I never leave it running unattended....just in case!
Don't blame me it yours burns up....but mine is just fine.
